Sorry in advance if this was the wrong place to post. This will be my second year at B Man. I want to have an event at my camp and try and give back on my second year. How do I go about getting an event in the event book? I want to do a 2-4 hour event on either Wed or Thur? Help! Can't seem to find out any info on this.

You're unfortunately way too late in the game to have a chance of getting your event into the printed guidebook. That opened up back in mid-June, and only has room for approximately 1550 listings. It filled up within days. You can still post it to the playa events calendar, as well as post a thread about it on the board.

Make a sign, too--like a sandwich board to place out by the road. Such as:

Pajama Party Today
Noon to 4pm
Dancing ~ 90's R&B
Mai Tais Served ~ Bring Your Own Cup ~ Come in!

If it's a dance class or a yoga class or whathaveyou, specify "All Levels Welcome" or "Beginner" or "Advanced" or whatever you need to tell people. But make sure they know they can approach. Lots of people worry about whether they're welcome.

Don't forget to tell your neighbors on all sides. But don't tell them days in advance (alone) and expect them to remember; tell them an hour or two before for best results.

Running into an event unexpectedly is a great thing and quite common. I happen across more events by accident than I ever purposefully set out to attend.

Seriously, don't underestimate the power of a sandwich board or a big dry-erase board in front of your camp for getting the word out on events. Lots of people never even really look at the booklet, and just let serendipity guide them around the city.
