one year i watched it around C on a 50 or so foot high high viewing deck.. it was a great view.. seeing all of the people streaming out of the city for an hour or so was kind of cool... it was calm and quiet, no yahoos.. could see the fireworks well and didnt have to deal with crowds.

Can I come? (jk) :)

After 2 years, I think I'd really like to give this a shot. Especially from a tall structure, I think it'd be a really amazing thing to see from far away (especially the fire conclave, cause I've never had a good view of that).

it wasnt my camp.. it was a nearby camp and we asked if we could go up to watch the man burn as the camp folks seemed to stay by the entrance to keep an eye on the fort ... they said yes, so we went up.

im guessing theres lots of chances for this. as someone inevitably stays behind to keep an eye on camp.. and being 50 feet up might not be the best place when watching things..

while awesome.. my camps viewing deck isnt high enough for a good view of the man burn!

Yeah, we're taking in quite a few virgins this year, so I may not be able to skip going out with them for the burn, but I'll be scoping out possible locations during the week in case the opportunity presents itself.

you can always watch the burn from the city and go in to the big pile of fire after the man falls and the perimeter is opened.

True, though I'd have no chance in hell of finding my friends. I'd have to make them swear to come back to camp, but even that wouldnt be fool-proof if they found a great MV to ride somewhere :)

I just love that ODB Big Baby Jesus Osirus Mr Dirt McGirt himself had a Burning Man relevant lyric, lol.
