No split orders?
So I just found out the hard way that you can't transfer ownership of invididual tickets from an order. Only the entire order can be transferred. What's the purpose of that rule?

A little reflection possibly answered my own question. It's to prevent scalpers from buying in bulk then reselling individual tickets at inflated prices, right?

Re: No split orders?
It could be that, but I think the order-splitting thing predates the scalper menace. Maybe it's just that they don't want to have to split up orders for will-call because it's a pain to modify the order, or they're lazy, or something like that.

Re: No split orders?
I was just dealing with a lady with four tickets who was ready to sell me one, and had to bail because of that rule. The only way we could've done it would be that she'd have to arrive at the will call gates before I did, get her tickets, and then leave one in my name. There's just way too much crap that could go wrong in a scenario like that.

Yeah, I wouldn't do that unless you know that person.Schtev wrote:I was just dealing with a lady with four tickets who was ready to sell me one, and had to bail because of that rule. Re: No split orders?
Correct, no split orders. It's not a new rule, and is covered in the FAQ. Personally speaking, anyone considering either buying or selling tickets to the event should consider the announcements on the ticket board here and the ticketing FAQ required reading. Not only so you don't look/feel like a dope, but to avoid surprises and complications.
Re: No split orders?
It is a pain to modify the order, but it also helps deter people from buying large blocks of tickets without specific others in mind.BBadger wrote:It could be that, but I think the order-splitting thing predates the scalper menace.
