Fundraiser for Eridu Society's Ziggurati

Eridu Society has been coming to the playa and building fun stuff for years. Last year we created the Fertile Minds Idea Deli and Lofty Thoughts Lounge. Located on 8:30 just off Esplanade, we had a great week with our rubber stamp bar and with serving up good and bad ideas, deli pickles, cold drinks and more to other participants.

For 2013 we'll be creating a new installation (in the 9:00 keyhole) that ties in with both the Cargo Cult theme and our camp's background. A ziggurat, complete with a museum and visitor's center to showcase the treasures and artifacts we've found on our journeys through time, space, and several of the better dimensions. Through our art and interactions, we'll share the history of ancient Sumer and discuss the ideas of our ancient alien ancestry, time travel, and other such nonsense.

Haha - and thanks guys. We had a productive weekend of painting and coating parts...





And while we were doing that, the computer was chugging along on a ten second render test. I've been tinkering around with some of the atmospheric settings to see if I could improve upon the overall look and feel. Nowhere near perfect, but I like the way it came out.

What kind of treasures and art pieces will be on display?

Thanks, Morrell! Bless. they'll be curiosities and artifacts that we've collected on our adventures through time, space, and several of the better dimensions. Some of the artists in camp don't want their surprises to be spoiled, so we're keeping the details on those under wraps for now. There will be 8 larger pieces installed in the displays to each side of the ziggurat, and probably a dozen or so smaller pieces on display on the curio carts.

I'm very pleased to report that our campaign ended successfully last night! Thank you to everyone who's helped out, every donation, share, and kind word or thought has helped us tremendously!
