Transporting art from Oakland to BM

Post by simon_stilts » Tue Jul 30, 2013 3:31 pm

Hi all I'm looking for a way to bring my registered art project up to the burn.

I'm happy to rent a truck and spread the cost out a bit if you have something you need brought up.
If so, can someone please suggest a good rental company for trucks? Penske in Hayward, i've heard mentioned.

Otherwise If someone already has some transportation arranged and has some additional space, I'm happy to chip in for rental and gas.

The footprint I need is about 7' long x 4' wide x 4' tall.
There's also lots of hollows in it to cram things in.

thanks

There seem to be many reports that Penske will absolutely not rent to burners, and will even take drastic steps to thwart us. Same with U-Haul.

Budget has a good reputation. Hengehold also.

But it may be far too late in the season. So I think you are looking for somebody with an "existing" truck. Best of luck.

Hengehold (at least last time I checked) does court burner business. They have a burner page. Start there, just in case there's something. Someone may have cancelled. If you are going to team up with someone with a truck already, you might try fb or craigslist. I simply don't know how many people who read eplaya also are from the bay area and have a partially empty truck. You want to widen the pool of prospective matches.

Of course, I'm talking out of my hat...
