I just got a call from my friend Dee who's son Rob was admitted to the hospital the other night. He's been having issues with agonizing pain, fevers, bladder issues, they think it's his gall bladder and a lot of other things and they can't seem to find what the problem is.

He had trouble breathing when he went in, along with excruciating pain. They did surgery in his throat and removed a bunch of cyst type nodules in his throat. He's now in a drug induced coma. He's in ICU and Dee was told no one can see him. Please send good thoughts and love her and Rob's way. Thank you.

FUUUUUCK! So here's what I found out about my friend's son, I remember last year when he was so sick and I'd take Dee to see him. He went to U of W and had a medication pump put in his abdominal area. It was doing ok for a week or two, then he got really fucking sick, we thought he may die. His body was rejecting the pump, because he had caught MRSA (Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus ). Surgeons remove the pump immediately.They treated him for the MRSA and sent him home. That was last September. He's been near death twice in the past 10 months and the hospital he was staying at would pump him up with antibiotics and send him home. As I said before, they found he had MRSA again and treated him and sent him home.

While all this time he still had MRSA in his system. The multitude of cysts in his throat were all filled with MRSA and they had to be drained. Surgeons got all the cysts out and cleaned his throat up. But they're keeping him in the hospital for a while to see WTF their course of treatment will be. He caught the MRSA when he had the med pump put in last year.

He's resting comfortably right now. I'm taking Dee to see him on Tuesday.

I've never seen anyone so fucking sick as Rob. His last hospital stay he was almost screaming he was in so much pain. He'd call for the nurse and she never came. All he wanted was a big glass full of ice. I went and got a nurse and said the ice was for me, and with a smile I got the ice tout suite. I gave it to him and it seemed to help.

7 years ago I had surgery that lasted 3 hours. I never had an experience like Rob. I was well taken care of at the same hospital. I think it has to do with budget cuts within the hospital.

Anyway, I praying for the best!

I was pretty lucky to be, not only to be in an Austrian hospital, but to be in one of the best Austrian hospitals. And I had some sort of staph infection... Fucking lucky it wasn't that bad.

MA- MRSA is fucking awful - it's completely devastating to the human body. The fact that he's had that horrendous fucking bug floating through his body for a year speaks of his strength. Hang in there! Situations like this show you who's important in your life and who is truly a friend. Rob is lucky to have someone like you to show support and get ice when he needs it. Just having that caring human connection will make a huge fucking difference in his healing.

He told me that there's hardly ever an instance where at least some of the lost data can't be retrieved. (tho he was a bit of a braggart and maybe was just pumping himself up)

Might be worth taking it to see someone who might help before declaring it undoable???
