hexayurts - how many people?

Hi folk -

I'm planning to build a couple of the standard 8" hexayurts this year and had a fairly straightforward question that I couldn't quite find a definitive answer to: how many people can I expect to fit inside? I'm imagining 6 reasonably and 8 very cozy (give sq footage) but would love to hear from someone with experience out there...

6 would seem a bit crowded if you are all in there at the same time. maybe not the most comfortable but doable in a pinch...

I build the standard 6 sided yurt and have had 3 people with cots/air mattress there was plenty of room for a short table along one wall and a coffee table in the center. Remember that 1 wall will be not very usable because it is the door wall

Ah, that's very helpful. Since we have a communal shade area as well, I think we'll just use the hexayurts for sleeping.

So it sounds like 6 would be doable but 7-8 not a great idea?

6 would be doable if all of your things were stored elsewhere. I can't imagine 6 people and all of their things being a very comfortable fit in there.

Sorry, couldn't be helped, it reminded me of an old joke.

Like the others have said, you'll get less than half of what you're aiming for, and that's if they've only got a relatively small amount of stuff to store inside.
