2013 White Parties?

With no Opulent Temple this year, are there any other white parties (dress in white, not racially white) that folks are looking forward to?

Years ago I used to look forward to the white procession on Thursday before sunrise, but that wasn't a party per se. I think it ended some time ago, during one of my gap years. I haven't really sought out or looked for parties with recommended dress codes.

FWIW, I just came across mention on FB that OT would host one party this year ... the White Party.

I always found the idea of a dress code at burning man annoying. I suppose I could just go naked though.

Opulent Temple has no plans for the playa this year (they're taking a well-deserved break), and already had several Sacred Dance/White Party events in different cities (as they have for the last few years). To those who think organizing a large scale event is easily done, I say go ahead then, organize it.

The White Procession, which was started by our camp Woonami was started in 2003 I believe. It still happens on Thurs. morning just before sunrise. People make the trek out to the temple to watch the sunrise, to celebrate ,to worship ,to meditate to dance or do whatever inspires them. There is no official starting point. People show up from all over the city dressed in white. It is actually a lovely ritual and continues to be. Dance parties now ensue around art cars. It is still one of my favorite events at Burning Man.

For us Birgins, what's "the usual"? I'm a white party kind of guy, and would love to track this down.

I went out Wednesday done up in white and found out that there were at least 7 big white parties all over the playa. I ran across 3 different ones. Interesting as Opulent used to be the jumping off point for all things white that night. No big deal really, although having a huge cluster of people together in white like that used to be pretty cool.
