A person once told me that my emails and posts were the snarkiest thing she'd ever read.

I generally have a polite smile on my face when I post. I believe them to be friendly when they leave my fingers.

I guess some people just don't know how to read.

Its easy to forget that unless you know someones personally or have read enough of their posts it is difficult to pick up on tone and intent. Text is a dry format and a large percentage of communication is tone of voice, gestures, place, setting, as well as many other factors. Not everyone is as thick skinned or can take a moment to digest something. When offended a PM is usually the easiest way to get the real scoop - ask a question and get an answer. Some people prefer to do it publicly.

you can't plonk mods, you can't block the NSA but then again those guys are there to help.
but you can talk about all sorts of stuff that keep them worried. And that is way better than plonking them.

I would have to agree with the orginal poster (---postby BRCbaby » Thu Aug 01, 2013 4:55 pm ) in this discussion. In the past I even googled moderators roles and responsibilities, to confirm in my own opinion if some of the moderators are off kilt. But then again who the fuck am I.

Not only are they off-kilt, but several are Official Kilt Inspectors, so rest assured the fate of this humble board is in good... Er... "hands".

BRCbaby, are you sure that you are not confusing objective statements with accusations? It's easy to take things personally.

IMO, the admins and moderators do a great job in the harsh, two-dimensional, sometimes inhospitable world that is eplaya.
