Need to return to the real world in the middle of BM13

Hi all,

I need to return to SF right in the middle of BM13 for an immigration interview scheduled on August 29th AM (Thursday). First, I wanted to confirm that the $20 out pass will allow me to leave and re-enter BM after a couple of days. Second, I wanted to ask for any thoughts and recommendations on ways to get from BRC to SF on the 28th and then return from SF to BRC on the 29th. It appears there are a fair number of options for the SF to BRC leg, especially with share ride and the Burner Express. The larger concern is getting from BRC to SF on the 28th. One option is to somehow get to Reno and then take the Amtrak or a one-way flight. Question is, how does one get to Reno on the 28th, since the Burner Express from BRC to Reno only starts operating on the 30th?

I'd greatly appreciate any suggestions.

An immigration interview is something you get to fuck up only once.

Choose wisely what is more important in your life. Going to a desert party once or going to a desert party for years to come.

Stay home, do the interview. Go to BM next year.

No problem with the $20 in/out. You'll get a bracelet put on your wrist when you pay your $20. You'll also need your ticket stub. Do not cut off the bracelet before you get back into BRC.
As far as getting to Reno, make your way to gate road with a "Reno/SF" sign and you'll get a ride.
I had to leave and come back during the middle of the event last year, and had no issues. Easy out, easy back in.

If you have cash to burn & want to pretty much guarantee making it, I'd book a flight from BRC to Reno, then one from Reno to SF. The flights to & from BRC are *pricey*. so be prepared to spend several hundred dollars each way (and you need a ride to the BRC airport). Getting back is easy - hunt up a rideshare, do the new bus service from SF, fly to Reno & do the bus service from there... million options.

Getting out via ride-share is really going to depend on who's leaving BRC on Weds, and put your immigration interview in the hands of strangers.

RR, have to agree with the above. if you have unlimited funds, I'm always in favor of the various air shuttle services serving the BRC Galactic Spaceport. And it would be cool to return to celebrate a successful hearing Thursday night. But there are many burners in SF who would gladly pay face value for your ticket today. It is possible that the week before the burn ticket prices could fall below face as they did last year.
