In an homage to something else[1] and as a grand send off marking the transition from Black Rock City LLC to the non-profit Burning Man Project Larry Harvey himself will be inside of The Man in 2013*.
This decision came after much discussion among all of those involved.. and while this will require drastic changes to The Man himself.. we think that the symbolism of this act will free our community from the chains of a for-profit Burning Man while opening up a doorway to a brighter future.
In making this decision we understood that certain people may be impacted, and when all of the options were considered.. It was felt by all that this was the best choice for the business and the community that gathers around it every year around Labour day.
With that said..
We would like the community share in some memories and some insight about what has been and what is to come...
so...
How has the project that Larry started so long ago impacted you as an individual (beyond the "I had fun!" stories we all share)? And, how, in your estimation, do you feel Burning Man will be impacted by the coming changing of the guards?
While your input will not change the decision that has been made, it will serve as a testament to the amazing work this great man has done.

L Harvey was last seen hitch hiking along a back road out of SF in 2003.. Some claim to have seen him at other times/places.. But the statements are skechy at best.. One burner claims to have married him..
