Packed my clothes in zip-locks. Shirts, shorts, socks, underwear...
Looks like I'll be free-balling it 'til then.

Got a free shower curtain liner from a neighbor. It would be a crap tarp in the wind, but it's almost exactly the size of the footprint of my tent and thus should make a good moisture barrier.

Re: One Item for BM a Day
Picked up two boxes of XL ziplocks at the dollar store, along with an extra pack of baby wipes, three pack of hand sanitizer (can give two away as gifts), lip balm, and a nail brush.
I need to hit home depot this week for staples for the staple gun, a 27 gallon storage tote, contractor garbage bags, vice grips (can't find my other ones and I have looked everywhere), and possibly a canvas drop cloth for flooring in front of the van.
Funny. It seems like the more I cross off the list, the longer the list gets and I feel like I am not making much progress. Doh.

Foil pans from the dollar store to bake cookies and such in. Newer solar lights from HF because ours are such crap. Gotta love the HF coupons. Larry is making a box for our solar panels. We've had them for years, but haven't used them until now, when we have a figjam cooler. Hehe.
While there is always more to do, we decided that we could pick up and go anytime of year, just about.

Yes. When I really look at my list, I realize that after my first two years I have all that I *really* need. Well, besides a quick walk through a grocery store for water and foods.AntiM wrote:While there is always more to do, we decided that we could pick up and go anytime of year, just about.

Picked up the last of the essential camp infrastructure items (not that those last few ratchet straps are the make-it-or-break-it difference between camp flying away and staying in place, but...you never know), cleaned off the ol' white board and drew a "sitting in camp bingo" game on it, and I think that I have my "stuff left to buy" list down to just Reno stuff...very, very cool.
Once my order of yurt tape comes in, it's going to be me staring at the pile of stuff wondering when is too early to pack it all up.

Yesterday bought my train tickets, then sewed a favorite gift from last year and a strip of vintage fur onto my otherwise plain khaki messenger bag. Much better!

Today I picked up extra first aid supplies, and ziploc slider bags in 2.5 gallon and gallon sizes.

Got a 4x10 roll of Reflectix to build a thermal shell for my tent (shut up, it works), a little spray bottle to get a little evaporative cooling on the go inside the tent and mist myself/others, and COMFORTABLE ear plugs that won't make me feel like I got ear fucked by a rabid sparkle pony while I slept.

How well does that work? I don't have the space to carry up a FIGJAM bucket but spray bottle I can do.Schtev wrote:... a little spray bottle to get a little evaporative cooling on the go inside the tent...

No idea! By itself, probably not very well at all. But I figure combined with the Reflectix shell, it might have some measurable short-term impact. If not, well at least I've got myself a nice body mister.

I stole 2 more half rolls of single ply toilet paper from work. I always carry some with me to the potties, never know if there will be any in there or not.

You're trying to AVOID that?
Are you some sort of religious fanatic or something?'
My dashboard told me my left brake light went out (I LOVE German engineering*) the same one that went out in Nebraska on the way to BM in 2011 when I was particularly sensitive about being pulled over. I'm fast but not fast enough to step on the brake and run to the back to catch it. Picked up and installed replacement bulb which I am now calling BM-related because it's my post as there's nothing you can do about it.

Spent the last 8 hours making up wiring.. Batteries on pusher trailer, batteries to controls and control wiring to trike.. Test OK.. Made a battery jumper box.. It can jump a car, or feed a inverter ad run a bunch of LED lites..Then wired two boom box to a 12 battery..Wired the mobility scooter so I can charge the pusher trailer off of it.. Finished up wiring the sound system.. Run test on all of it.. It works.. Now to load it unto the pusher trailer and test run the hell out of it..

Wow, Unjon! Sounds like you put in a full day today! I can't wait to see your set up!
I dug through some bins in the basement.....found the little solar lites that were, "missing"... along with some batteries,
3 led color changing egg lights, bike lights.....
More batteries goes on the shopping list..
As I was sorting stuff into piles on the floor, I looked at the 4 skeins of rope and got to thinking.....
How much rope should I bring? How many tie down straps? How many lights?
How much....of each?????
I had one of those HOLY CRAP moments!!!!

Well, obviously, any idiot can see that your right side brake is out of adjustment and the left brake is doing most of the work, explaining why the left brake light burned out sooner.Sic Pup wrote: My dashboard told me my left brake light went out (I LOVE German engineering*) the same one that went out in Nebraska on the way to BM in 2011 when I was particularly sensitive about being pulled over. No. I think it has more to do with how hard you push on your turn signals. If you are left handed, that explains it.

Received my 30 gallon collapsible moop container today.
You know it's going to be a bad day when you jump out of bed and miss the floor.
Re: One Item for BM a Day
Ha ha... you guys are too much, I knew this was just the place to come for automotive advice.
I loaded my mile long meandering packing/shopping/todo list text file into Excel and added the following tags in the column next to each item:
load - in my possession
here - to be purchased locally and hauled cross-country
ordered - in transit
Savemart
TJ's
Thankfully most items are tagged "load"
I then sorted it to create store-specific shopping lists and a packing list and will add which tote each item is in when loaded (where applicable) to create a contents list which I will laminate and affix to the inside lid of each tote (and a second copy because paper is cheap).

Finishing up mending a bunch of holes in the thrift store sweater. Bought cheap(ish) towels, pillows, and those vacuum-sealing bag thingies. Hoping to pack up kitchen stuff and re-pack some of the boxes for the container truck (now with some of the clothes I don't want to wear for the rest of the summer except at Burning Man).

Re: One Item for BM a Day
We finally got around to testing our "back room" for the monkey hut. Took the hubby almost all day to figure it out. (I was trying not to be bossy and know-it-all, and let him figure it out for himself...
) We finally got it worked out and I think it will be great! We didn't want to completely enclose the back of the MH because we wanted the airflow and circulation that is so great about the MH design. The fabric basically just gives us a little bit of privacy for showering and middle-of-the-night potty times.
