Pedalbump--Pedal powered bumper car arena
We're planning to bring out a pretty spectacular interactive attraction this year:
PEDALBUMP.
What's more fun than bumper cars at an amusement park?
Pedal powered bumper cars--aka Pedalbumps for everyone at 2013 Burning Man!
Our crack team of fungi-neers are ready to design and construct a fleet of six stylized, pimped out, bumper cars for races at our esplanade arena.
All of the details are at http://www.pedalbump.com
Never before has there been a bumper car installation on the Playa (that we know of...) Sanctioned, safe (?) CRASHING, BUMPING, SMASHING, THRASHING and many other 'ings! PEDAL to the METAL!
We will have six "public" bumper cars which are made up of the base pedal carts, the constructed bumpers and an original design to make each car unique. This fleet will reside at our installation for open hours of hosted hilarity for all to enjoy (first come first serve...)
Beyond the six ready made cars, we will offer the open source instructions for you DIY maniacs who wish to build your own personal car to decorate to your heart's desire. Note: Your personally built cars will be welcomed to our installation during public race times provided they meet the bumper requirements set forth in the easy to follow design. Our arena will be a 60‘x90’ circus tent with a wooden plywood track...you may know the tent as the Cirque Berzerk tent from years past. It will reside at Red Nose District (which also houses Enheightened Beings of Leisure and the Klownge). if you are interested in being part of the project, you can reach us through our website as well as respond here.

Thank you! After spending *far* too much time on the ticket threads, I decided to revive my excitement by checking out the Art and Performance board, and this was at the top. What an absolutely awesome idea. I can't wait to try it!

They have specs now. Try the link in the original post. Last I looked, I would have to build the bumper-assembly by their method and fit the car inside that. There weren't any final measurements for the bumper.
I probably have too many irons in the fire to get one ready.

we do have a build guide downloadable from our website and it includes bumper dimensions. If your car fits 'em, you can bring it on the track... the cars are all structurally built... adding some individual decor and bodies to each one.. we're having fun building em and riding em... hope you'll enjoy them as much as we do.

Elliot... if your bumper height matches ours then you can bump... build it any way you want as long as the bumpers bump and have a good amount of give to them.

So... where will the red nose district be this year? Because I would love to give a pedalbumpercar a go!
When he lights his streetlamp, it is as if he brought one more star to life, or one flower.
When he puts out his lamp, he sends the flower, or the star, to sleep.
That is a beautiful occupation.
