Definitely most of the speakers are talking Playa code everywhere I hang out

Today so far :"When are you going ?"
"What are you bringing ?"
"Who is coming with you ?"

Standard answer today so far : When I can !
Chocolate ,cognac, Brazil nuts.
Whoever fits !

They should try a soil nail launcher for putting in the stakes. Basically a one-shot military surplus nerve gas launcher set on end to put stakes in the ground at high speed. Except they'd never be able to pull out the fence posts.

Morning, Bar Peeps! Wow I sure missed so much these last couple of days. Two more Hump Days and we're off to the Playa. Hands free writing your name in the dust contest! There's an idea. Fence done    Staging stuff in my garage to load this weekend. Cleaning up the magic ladies massage table and stocking plenty of towels and oil for a busy playa season this year.

Cool and a bit overcast this morning. So hard to think about work. I'm already in the dust. ARTery meeting tomorrow night and that is good. Have shifts in the ARTery on Saturday and Sunday mornings and Art Tours on Tuesday and Friday. Camped at 5 and D again this year with Anti M as a neighbor in Hushville.

Morning everyone!

Nice cool morning before the temps hit 90, so I'm pulling things out from the shed! Staging area is almost complete minus the cooking I have to do.

Need to get going, enjoy your day!

Very quiet in here tonight. Slides into the NEB hoping for some gentle gender company. Pours a brandy and a couple on the bar for drop in's.

Totally refreshed for a new day. Hardly!

thanks all for the blanket and teddy bear. *rubs sore spots*
go get 'em Cap'n. I always wanted to try a big crane. I built as big a one as I could, but it's nothing compared to "real" ones.

It's a truck mounted crane, can lift 23,000 pounds... I have my Land Yacht in the back yard right now. Had to open fence to get it there. I seriously considered picking it up with straps and lifting it over the fence. The neighbors would have shit a brick. I've got so many BM related covenant violations going on I didn't want to attract any attention!

My kid went back to school this week. We've been sleeping in too much this summer as I can not wake up even with coffee. Think I'll try vodka next.

I enjoyed living in a CCR subdivision for ten years in Sacramento. Kept the neighborhood looking nice.
But of course, I moved to the country partly so I could have room and tolerance for my toys. Old bus, check. New barn, check.

A surprise burst of gainful employment has interrupted my preparations. Luckily, said task happens mostly here at the computer (writing a magazine article). It will help pay for my burn.

Wonderfully cool here also this week.

Back to sorting photos.

The most awesome crane thing I ever saw was when Larry was delivering structural steel to the City Center in Vegas. I was on a ride along, it was a big oversized piece. He had to drive into the pit, very narrow, and they lifted the whole thing off with this massive crane. To get back out, he had to unhook the trailer, then the pit crew attached chains to it. The crane lifted it in the air as he backed out. The wheels were level with my window. They lifted it up over us and twirled it around. Larry turned the tractor around and hooked up to the trailer once it was down on the ground.

I always worried about him and all that steel being slung around. The time I watched him standing under dangling loads and putting dunnage on the trailer scared me to pieces. He's back to delivering groceries.

That should scare you!! I do whatever it takes to never let myself or anyone stand under a suspended load!!
That's crane Rule Number One!!

I break a zillion "rules" every day, going on judgement and experience to get a job done... but never that one!
