Plug & Ply 2013 - a scaled down p&p experience
Although I have set grand plans for 2014 with Plug and Ply, I am anxious to get the camp off the ground for 2013. We obviously do not have the time or resources to assemble a full scale plug & play camp, so I'm thinking out of the box. What I have in mind is to sell camp memberships on a per day basis. There will be a daytime chill area for the members and guests alike and metal drums for exciting interactive opportunities for the BRC public. The membership fee is a flat $50 per day payable on our web site prior to arriving at the Burning Man festival, and that membership gets you access to our special area where you can gain access to predetermined amounts of goods such as hamburgers, Indian burritos, beer, water, and fresh vegetables trucked in daily using out vendor pass. We also offer durable goods such as chapstick, sunscreen, tarps, tools, etc in addition to using our grey water dumping station and trash dumpster facility. You can use three day's worth of camp membership to get a week's access to a bicycle to replace your bicycle if yours gets stolen. You will get 50 purchase credits for each $50 daily membership and the number of purchase credits needed for each item will be published on our website prior to your purchasing daily memberships. You can elect purchase one day's membership good on any day of the festival, that's fine. No money will change hands on the playa, so we're good with the BMORG's policies and ethos. Basically what we have in mind is a plug and play camp for the rest of us. If this concept is a success in 2013, we'll expand dramatically for years to come.

Trolling? It's beneath you.

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

Thank you jkisha. I guess I could have presented it in less of a SNL fashion. Just for that compliment, one free roll of toilet paper for every day you reserve at Plug & Ply 2013.jkisha wrote:Trolling? It's beneath you.

But truthfully, this is more than just a troll. I suspect that if given the chance, the plug & play culture can and will grow much more effortlessly than the ethos of radical self-reliance. It's like the cell phones were. It was fine when the doctors and investment brokers were talking on their phones in the restaurants, but once the common man included himself, we all regretted there was no turning back. If there's a buck to be made from it, plug & play will spread beyond the realm of the super wealthy.

Cornman, I am trying to tell you this in the nicest possible way, but you are doing your post all WRONG. You have mentioned an actual dollar figure, instead of hinting that payment is involved.
¡Radical self-reliance! Come on, people, is it that hard to do your own web search to find how much you need to "gift" for your onsite toilet paper delivery? Not to mention, if you haven't started pulping the wood chips from the trees you grew from seedlings, you are way, way, way behind schedule on your self-reliant hinny wiping.

The big plug and play camps don't beat around the bush when it comes to pricing. Why should an entity such as Plug & Ply (Scaled Down) do differently when offering these same services to the common people at an affordable price?

Thank you for that Knowmad. Please do stop by Orphan/Endorphin Camp at dusk for some live folk music and cold beer on tap. You'll recognize me, red hair, pony tail, always wearing a cap or hat.
