There are at least two girls in that picture that have domes glued to their chest. The chance that all three have dome-boobs is roughly 99.9998%.Eric wrote:That girl in the middle should have radically relied on her natural boobs, because somebody done fucked up & glued two domes to her chest.

Re: Radical Self-reliance
The trick to being radically self reliant is to actually be self reliant as in being able to survive independently. This goes past material possessions. We ask all the members of our camp to be able to survive on the playa even if they are not able to find our camp or if they have to move from the camp due to whatever issues. It's really not too difficult. This includes water, tent, ready to eat food, and a positive attitude in just being happy that they're present at Burning Man. I feel that being radically self reliant is best done when we include each other in this brotherhood/sisterhood. I feel that doing self reliance correctly is doing it in such a way that inspires others to take an interest in it too, and when you effortlessly help somebody with that can opener, torque wrench, mig welder, or a friendly word, you are being an ambassador of the spirit of self reliance. You are inviting the person into our fold. Humble pride in our own self reliance rings much more clear than arrogance, belittlement, or patronization. One issue I have is when when it goes too far, and a camp is nothing but a scattering of individuals or mini camps each hell bent on doing absolutely everything on their own, and the whole thing fails to gel into a cohesive camp collective. Yes I have an excess of gear, drink and food, but I'm happy and thankful to accept your contribution to the camp kitchen or whatever else you're proud to contribute to the camp. It's a give and take thing.

I have something important and useful to tell you all about radical self-reliance, but you could probably look it up or somehow discover it yourself.

Re: Radical Self-reliance
I cannot be radically self reliant. I suppose I could, if I really made it my goal, but it would take a hell of a lot of bootstrapping.
What I hate is the people who try to make me even more radically dependent than I am by circumstance.
I had a horrible time at the supermarket last night.

don't you sort of set up a "no win" there, Fishy? I mean, you first say you need some help, then say "but not too much", problem being, who's to know how much? If it's too much, you "hate" it, but if not enough, it's gotta be frustrating.theCryptofishist wrote:I cannot be radically self reliant. Re: Radical Self-reliance
The one I hate: is when I fold up out of the way (with canes) in a crowded space..
Then everyone stops, move back and motion me to go.. Fuck, I got out of your road so you would thin out..Also don't yank you kid across the isle in the store when you see me coming. I'm happy to let the kid look around and be him/her self.

I made a deliberately terse, general post. I don't mind help when I need it. When people insist, it only makes me feel helpless.ygmir wrote:don't you sort of set up a "no win" there, Fishy? dang.........gotta be tough, and tough to deal with "outside the limits" on help, or lack thereof.theCryptofishist wrote:I made a deliberately terse, general post. I don't mind help when I need it.
