totally agree.Schwarttzy wrote:Ya getting stuck is have the fun, getting out is the other half.
I've spent decades, wandering the northern NV deserts.
a couple of things to keep in mind:
there is nothing out there to tie/winch to. You can't depend on it, anyway.
you may have to make your own anchor(s). I love auger anchors. Spaced a little apart and tied together. But there are many methods.
when the "bottom" falls out, there is nothing below. and it will be soft for a ways back.
If it rains, just wait an hour or so, and it will all be fine. Try driving when it's raining and it's super slick and the mud is like bubble gum mixed with flour paste.
I believe you can be cited by BLM for tearing up a bunch of ground, when stuck.

I've truly had nightmare dreams of this scenario. Just looking at the picture raises my stress level.

I have a very similar photo from a mining road near here. What labor that must have been considering a lot of those were made by hand.

thats what its like to ride amtrak denver to reno in quite a few places..
on one side sheer rockface (with wires that when tripped inform coming trains to stop)
and on the other.. drop right into the river.. where youre high up enough in the train that you cant see an 'edge' on that side.
fun!

Re: Jungo Road <- Not the Usual Question
I had a worse photo where the trail narrowed noticeably ahead of the truck.
Can't find it.
Main roads in Tibet used to be supported on sticks in places.
The roads in cartoons were copied from that.
Here, modern photos of children going to school.

And... how stuck can you get?
