Dammit Bill! My associate at work who took a 7 and a half week emergency family medical leave returned to work. hmm, Bill, seems he's moved into a new house, and completed a course for a commercial driving license. BUT Bill, he's such an asshole, we all loved the peace of him being gone, doesn't matter why. The extra work was easy without the conflict.

I've been having a hell of a stretch.

Almost severed my fingertip - not easy to heal when you work with food and need to keep it covered 10 hours a day.

The dog died.

Today on the way home for work, preoccupied about whether there is an afterlife, and how my best friend is faring in it (I keep thinking "I hope my boy is okay" - when, in fact, he's dead) I changed lanes and sideswiped another car (damn blind spot). Luckily only minor damaged to both vehicles but I smashed my driver's side mirror. It's Gorilla taped for now, doubtful I can get it fixed in 6 days when I'm working most of them, In the aftermath, could not find my registration info, if it doesn't show up it's a trip to the DMV.

My life has become a bad country song (is there any other kind?)

On the bright side, the wife hasn't run off with the mailman.... yet.

In case you weren't aware, there's an app for that! (who am I kidding, my phone is the equivalent of a brick nowadays).

Woke this morning thinking I should call Grandfather.. My daughter asked me over coffee if I had started Grandfathers little truck lately.. About an hour later.. Grandfather called.. Guess what?? He hit a deer and messed up his van.. He's ok but had a hell of a time getting out on the passenger side.. (he can hardly walk).. He needs the little pickup.. He is a good driver.. He drives every day even when I'm with him.. He said he hadn't hit a deer in forty years..

Like when a little boy walks past my garage that is filling with dusty things that don't fit yet, and aren't clean yet, and points it out to his Grandpa who says, "Yes, that is a lot of dirty stuff. These garages are really meant for cars to be parked in. That's what they are really for." I have part of a dead parent upstairs in a giant plastic frog. (Leftover from a 'sprinkling ashes at sea' ceremony.) It makes me smile.
