Looking for a place to come home

Post by Youri » Tue Aug 13, 2013 9:35 pm

Hi everybody,

We are a couple of 31 and 33 from, he from Holland and she from Spain. We ´ve been traveling all the way from Uruguay up to finally (Yep, newbees) get to BRC. As things go when you travel, we had a lack of time to organize ourselves. Burning Man is the final destination of this great trip, which is our honeymoon by the way, and we are looking for a place to get home too.

Obviously willing to volunteer during or a few days before the event (we can cook, clean, help with happenings, basically anything) and pay our share.

We look forward to receive your hospitable offers or tips.

Cheers,

A couple that still has to come up with some fancy nick names.

Just to clarify, are you planning to show up at Burning Man without food, shelter, and water?

You might want to read the First Timer's Guide. After that make you packing list and plan to buy EVERYTHING you need to survive. Book your ride on the Burner Express or find a rideshare and split the costs. Make sure the rideshare knows how much stuff you are bringing with you. Expect NOT to get early arrival passes because you can clean and cook... The folks there before Sunday are capable of doing that. Most people there are building their camps and/or art.

I didn't come up with my playa name... YMMV

Hi guys,

Thanks for your replies. We do not really care whether we bring our own stuff or have everything organized, although we prefer the last though. The case is that we are more in need for a place rather than conditions... Hope to hear from you.

Cheers, Youri

You can camp in the open camping areas; you'll get a map at the gate.

You don't 'need' a camp to join.

You ARE a camp.

Work this subforum--especially those camps saying that they are still looking for people. And "ask not what your camp can do for you, ask what you can do for your camp."

Yes, chase down a camp. They will more than likely not find you this late in the year. Send email or PMs. Or check out the Green Tortoise camp. You will need a tent.

You might also simply look for an RV rideshare in 2013 Share Resources. Don't go for a stuffed RV, you'll be miserable. 4 people or fewer. Good luck!
