Slightly Odd rideshare request originating in San Diego

So this is a bit of a unique rideshare opportunity, primarily because I can't really terminate it at Black Rock City.

Basically, my situation is this:

I have truck with only 1 extra seat to spare. However, my partner is flying into Reno at 9pm on Friday night. We both have early passes for Saturday and I will be driving with her from Reno to the playa on Saturday morning. This means that I will be driving by myself from SD to Reno, but can only take someone as far as Reno.

There are two options for me at this point that I can offer.

First, depart Thursday from SD, around 12pm noon. Drive to the Bay Area (I'll be staying with a friend in Oakland). Then on Friday morning, take the I-80 East into Reno. If anyone needs a ride from SD to the bay, or from the bay to Reno on the aforementioned dates, I have 1 seatbelt.

Second option, if someone needs a ride straight from SD to Reno on Friday, leaving very early (its about a 12 hour drive so I want to leave by 7am), I have 1 seatbelt.

I know this is a bit of an odd request, but there are other ride opportunities to get from Reno to the playa (and shuttles) so if my situation can help out your situation at all, please PM me.

You might try Craigslist for non-burners as well...

Although if someone from California is meeting with someone flying into Reno...

Why not just drive alone and avoid the sure headache?

Sounds like you can offer two people rides... A ride from SD to SF and then from SF to Reno.

Try the San Diego area mailing list - it has a fairly large readership and goes out frequently this time of the year. You could also try swinging by the weekly meet and greet at Redwings on Tuesday night and asking around.
