Hello my name is (I have no cool playa name yet) but I go by S and C because my wife is always with me even when she isn't with me. She's just that cool. I am the S in SandC.

I'm normally used to being the weirdest guy in the room but at BRC I think I'm going to look like a straight-laced dork. Ah well.

I'll be attending my first burn this year and I'm already trying to adjust my social paradigm as others enlighten me about the event. I'll be fling my little red plane in and landing at BRA. Look for the little red plane that is hopefully glowing at night. Stop by and say hello.

Thank you for the welcome! So how do I get one of those cool burner names? How much do I have to drink? How dusty do I have to get? Will someone gift me with one? Can I gift myself with one? How hot is the sun? Where does light come from and where does it go? How come that new planet NASA discovered is pink? Do starfish get horny? Where did I leave my axe? Will I see you all at the meet and greet?

We can't tell you on this board, because mentioning that I can give you one for $1000 is against the no-commerce principle. And even though Eric is a moderator, we can't mention that he can give you one even cooler for $1500.

This is (only!) my second year, and I've got a few names. Some people on a boat named me "tangle" for untangling a mess of gift necklace-puzzle pieces they were giving out in honor of their fallen captain. I also picked up "Mafro" from some of my neighbors and loved ones for a comment I made after winning a debate. Then there is attitude, TK's Kid, Smiles, Whats that?, and some people just call me Sarah.

Your playa name will find you, or it wont. Or you'll find it, or you wont. It wont matter much what your name is out there.

I fly to out of the way places all the time. I love landing in the boondocks. But I've never landed in an out of the way place that had 50,000 people waiting there to say hello.

You can pick your own burner name, I did. Great crew at the airport and they have a pancake breakfast one day and a lounge at all times. As a first timer, you and yours are due for a thorough inspection by our fine immigration and customs staff! Remind them on arrival.

Some people are costume people and some are not. Plenty of people wear normal clothes or camping clothes. Then there is a whole range of the most creative costumes on the planet. If you like costumes and bring some, great. How about the misfit aviator? If you are adventurous, you and yours could stop by the Black Rock Boutique and the several other costume camps for costumes and styling!

I can't wait. Everyone seem so open and friendly. I'm just trying to show up as prepared as possible with as few expectations as possible. My attitudes and expectations are a blank slate.
