I'm late on this but - what is the website or contact that we use for requesting FM freq allocation for Camp low-power FM transmission? I did this a few years back and it was K-SVERT but I can find anything on google for this year. Blowing the dust off the xmitters right now and hoping it's not too late!

You would have to do that on playa once you found an unused frequency.

No, this isn't an ESD or OPS thing. It's for the DJ's, camps and art installations. Here... this is an example of what I am talking about from 2011.

The question I am asking is who is doing the freq coordinating this year? I need to find out if they have a freq left I can use for my camp.

I didn't. K-SVERT has nothing for this year. Last year's was done by:

So back to my original post - I cannot find anywhere who is coordinating the FM freqs this year. PLEASE, can somebody tell me so I don't have to bug Battalion One.

I just looked a little closer at the http://bmfreqs.wordpress.com/ chart... although the top of the page says 2012, the left column in the allocation chart is marked 2013. Go figure. I guess they are the guys.

Well, that was a bust. The email they gave for requesting freqs ( [email protected] ) is no longer a valid yahoo recipient. So back out in the cold again.

I think they are asking you to subscribe to a Yahoo group with a Yahoo account. That group has current traffic. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/radio-list/. Closer we get to the event, busier people will be. Good luck with your broadcasts!

Thanks, SSE... between the running around unpacking last year's s shit and restocking this year's shit I am coming to the conclusion I'm not gonna have time to figure this out. Oh well... I did spectrum managemet in the military as well as transmit ham signals from military installations. I think I can get by with underground transmitting at .5 watts on the playa. p.s. if anybody important is monitoring this, I will check with Comms once I get on the playa. I won't transmit on any freq if there is even the slightest chance that I will interfere with anything.

You might introduce yourself to the Papa Legba camp to meet other radio people. Spectrum coordination is an emerging area on playa. Enjoy this year!
