I can't believe it... the camper is on the truck, the Land Yacht is up on the trailer. That hasn't happened since 2008!

Re: One Item for BM a Day
Rode my playa bike around today. Felt good to be in the saddle. I found out I need to make a few riding adjustments.
Took the shade structure to the park for a run through on the set (not on the bike, separate trip
) and found out I must have a step ladder to get the sucker DOWN. It's 8ft tall and there is no way I can lift the roof off the poles without some height assistance. Also I will be on the lookout for extra bungee balls. Those things are fabulous.
Going to see Steely Dan in the city tonight. If I had thought harder about the date proximity to BM, I probably wold have skipped on the tickets, but it will be good to get up to the city and enjoy some good music.
Tomorrow I leave for a few days of camping in Big Sur. Taking the boy, the bikes, some river rafts, and good food. I have so much to do, but I figure I must live life as well. Whatever doesn't get done, is OK. I've got shade, a bike, I will have food and drink, it's all gooooooood!

Chocolate frosting is for the vanilla wafers. I PLAN to go to the 'center camp cafe volunteer' party and never show up empty handed. It's a daytime affair.

Re: One Item for BM a Day
Today was a very good day.
Found a bunch of interesting lighting options on blowout sale.
Walked into Value Village 3 minutes before they closed and secured the Lab Coat I found out a couple of days ago that I required for my Census shift. There was ONE. It was Exactly my size. Last person at the cash before they closed the door at 5.
Drove the half-hour home and swung into the liquor store just before they were locking up. Bought the last two bottles of Sortilege to fill out my inventory for the M$G. The LAST TWO. Last person at the cash before they closed the door at 5:30.
Came home with the biggest smile on my face....

Re: One Item for BM a Day
Today was go to Costco and buy giant-sized items day. Pre-made margaritas, fiber bars, and dried fruit. And many bottles of wine. I think I could survive just on that. I did get some looks at checkout regarding the amount of booze in my cart. I told the cashier I was going on a health kick.
My closest Costco's in Carson City, Nevada, so I spent much of the drive gazing off to the northeast and wondering how things are on playa. Beautiful stormy thundery clouds over much of the desert.
Next jobs: new white fur in the RV and pink el-wire for my pink (former bathrobe) bolero jacket.
I realize I do a countdown till leaving at least 8 times a day.

Re: One Item for BM a Day
Sounds like the world is your oyster, Delle. Good, you deserve it, we all do.
Unfortunately I tried to complete the few remaining items on my list and met with a different fate. First, I need a 2 or 3 qt pot, I don't have one I care to take to BM at home so I figure I can pick one up at the thrift. I arrive @ 7:50 a security guy steps in front of me as I enter and tells me they actually close 15 minutes before they actually close
I asked for 2 minutes to run in and see if they had a pot before I go to Wallyworld. No dice. I end up with a pot with a glass lid (ugh) that smells like exploitation at 2 to 3 times I would have paid for used .
No biggie though, I finally found shelf-stable milk that isn't flavored because the notion of vanilla, chocolate or strawberry instant mashed potatoes isn't one I've been pining for particularly (at least not lately, anyway).
I struck out on the additional "carafes" (for lack of a better term) I was looking for. I wanted something that could be used to pour my M&G treat into one's hand as opposed to co mingling and collecting our cooties in a reach in receptacle (I love you all but my love has it's limits), I haven't given up though (on finding the carafes that is).
But I did find just the right size brownie mix in case I wimp out and don't find the time to make them from scratch on Tuesday.
I've been planning on Sunday to be Burnercific all week and then I look at my ticket for Alice In Chains/Jane's Addiction and see it's a freaking festival starting at 2PM. Oh well, I'll split it down the middle and go late afternoon. I still have Monday and Tuesday to get everything done (BWAHAHAHA)
My boss genuinely forgot my impending vacation. She nearly hit the floor when I said goodbye with "see you in September". She recovered quickly though when I suggested if they were in a bind I'd be in NY until Tuesday and astutely responded "you're on vacation, get out of here". I whispered "I love you" as I bolted for the door.

I spent all day drinking and eating, and then went out and drank some more. Instead of packing. That's prep work, right?

Bought 2 colors of tutu fabric, wide elastic, some bling, gold ribbon, and a zipper for some favorite playa pants.
Took inventory of some jewelry supplies.
Fretted a bit.

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

i also phoned the hotels i will be at and confirmed the amount of money that is held as a deposit.
the deposit on an online reservation from a big famous hotel/flight/travel website is $30 more than the reservation done on the direct hotels website, for some odd reason.

Today: Change oil in generators and truck. Clean up a little more of the colossal mess around the yard from the BM projects that have been all-consuming for the last few months. Hide the rest under a Costco carport until I get back. Pack stuff. Figure out how to get everything on the trailer in and around the boat. Try to get camper interior remodel finished. (It's now a "Glamper"... yeah screw you WineBuff, it's your fault I started looking again at remodeled old campers and ended up in that huge extra project)
