Got a v3 5/8 16' going out this year and so far it's got a parachute that I can tie up 4 feet or so all the way around during the day with proper anchors.
My worry now is rain!
I heard we are in for a couple days of possible t-storms this year and I am trying to decide on either bringing a big 30' x 40' tarp just to cover it when it's looking like rain or to tarp over the bed and such inside of the dome.
If I do cover the dome with a tarp, what size/thickness (mm) does it need to be? Can I get away with a shitty blue one for very minor temporary rain covers?
Would I be better off with a different cover all together? Money is a big issue but I don't want to be worried about my home when I am on the other side of the playa.
Thanks!

worry about covering stuff that could be damaged.. not the entire dome

Yeah, what he said. Use your tarps to create a dry area inside your dome.

Yeah, that's what I was kinda leaning towards. I will have a tarp over the bed during the day anyways to keep it from getting too dusty. Clothes are in bins, not much else will need to be protected.
The only thing is that It would be really nice to provide a nice out-of-the-rain hangout for people. So IF i decide to try something should I go for a temporary giant tarp or a week long marriage of temperature/rain hybrid that is slightly compromised in both ways?
A full tarp cover will most likely make it super super hot but anything else mean wetness during a storm.
I think I will just bring several large tarps and just wing it. See how I feel.
Any other tips? advice? I just started on ePlaya and love it. Thanks everyone!
