Post by vgurbuxani » Tue Aug 20, 2013 6:45 pm

Hi Everyone-

I am super excited to be coming to this years' burning man. I just confirmed an RV, but I don't have a camp yet to join and its me +1.

Can anyone suggest a camp that still has room?

I would be very greatful!

Hey there, welcome to eplaya!

Try Hotel Rug Camp. They're not placed, so you have to look at specific cross-streets for a sign. Some new people, some second timers, et al.

Your RV might make a good windbreak for those in tents. :) Prevailing winds are from the SW, so consider letting someone nice camp North of you.

Note: you do not NEED a camp. Half the city doesn't bother joining one. It's only an idea if you want one.

Other camps might still be taking people, but you have to email likely candidates and don't expect miracles, as many of them are leaving for the playa right now.

Yeah, you don't really need a camp at this late date, and with an RV. Make your own camp, why be second fiddle when you can be cock of the walk. Drive in, find a spot, talk to the neighbors. Declare yourself Camp ______. And there you are. One big reason for joining a camp is access to a shower, bathroom, kitchen...communal resources that someone might not have themselves. You already have that. Another big reason to join a camp is the social aspect, but you have an RV, let me know where you are camped and I'll be company everyday around breakfast, dinner and shower time.
