Anyone else notice that John Curley's latest post is gone?
It was discussing the increased law enforcement presence of this year, with pictures of a K-9 searching the Gypsy Queen and a few other tidbits on the increased police presence and the relative new-ness of some of the individual officers to the Playa. It's now missing from the blog, but you can still see part of it cached if you search "building brc" on Google.
I'm not sure if there's any conclusions to be drawn there, but it is interesting that it has disappeared.

Oh, for the record, I'm referring to the post on the Burning Blog. Sorry.

Can't access the post, but you get a bit of the first line off of Google. Frighteningly goes along with what sfslim posted earlier today on fb about the stepped up presence. I was hoping the joint rides would tone down the Pershing sheriffs, it seems rather to have made the BLM more hard-ass.

That turns up a 404 for me, personally.
I'm not trying to be a conspiracy-asshat or anything, but I think we can all take this as a warning that if one like to participate in things that might not be so legal, it would be an excellent idea to do it privately, quietly, and without a smell if possible. I'll be drinking and biking around naked, but reports of tickets for indecent exposure make me curious as to what will be enforced in that regard.

http://villa.lunacite.com/docs/Archive.pdf - in case anyone is curious. Taken from another website, someone archived it for reading pleasure.

Interesting - it initially showed up a 404 for me, but then someone had posted the link on facebook and it worked. Now it's 404 again, and if you look at the posts in the Building BRC blog, it's gone.
Curious.

The article "If This Doesn’t Scare You, Maybe It Should" can still be read as a PDF file here:

I have never been able to attend Burning Man, but I have wanted to participate for some years; I was planning on attending in 2014, but I am now having some doubts.
As a 70 year old and one who has never been attracted to anything stronger than a rum and coke; with all this talk about ever increasing LE presence and the postings about so many citations for so many minor infractions, I am not sure if I wish to expose myself to the possibility of an over eager searcher or pay a fine for an accidental and non-intentional minor motor vehicle infraction.
I must give this more thought....

Meat Hunter -
dont worry about 1. Your age, 2. LE talk. Burningman is not the hippie drug sex fest the media makes it out to be. While I rarely drink outside BM there is plenty of booze available. And while you can smell marijuana now and then, its rarely in the open. Harder drugs exist, but any city of 68000 has it as well.
