not to worry. the asking for a free or "miracle" ticket is nothing new. And did not start with burning man. Anytime there is a big event there will be people asking for free tickets. It is annoying (and also amusing) but there it is. Just like little miss "save no money, make no money, have no job. Work on a farm and help with growing vegetables" , Some think that "gifting" means we should be more than willing to provide a free ticket. Not So! burning Man is not a free ride. $380 for a ticket, $1000 to cover cost of transportation and supplies needed to survive in a harsh desert environment. The gifting part happens after you have been radically self reliant.
Yes, it is an art show. And a big Party. And there are many who go who do not see anything more than that. And there may even be some big theme camps who do not see any more than that. But if you look under the surface you will see that there is much more there.
There are people who regularly buy an extra ticket or 2 to gift to someone they think is deserving. And some who find they cannot use the ticket they have and just gift it to someone else. So there are miracle tickets. Most of the deserving ones are not asking for one though.
Dance in the heart of chaos. . . . .
