Raingear?
Should I bring some or not this year? Thoughts? My first burn was last year and I have never experienced the playa when it rains. (Does this also mean there are no dust storms this year?) I'm thinking I should at least bring something for night, since it gets cold. Being wet and cold is not fun. Dry and cold....much better. Thank you!!

I always pack a cheapie umbrella, just in case....
Re: Raingear?
I always bring one of those cheap rain ponchos you can buy at a camping store. They aren't bulky and cost about $3. I have had it every year I have gone and never used it.
I also have a pair of boots and a cheapie unbrella, just in case. I hear it's a good idea to make sure you have a single metal butter knife to "cut down" the playa shoes if you have to walk after it's rained. Playa platforms occur.

Expected rain or not, you should probably buy and keep a portable shell for trips anyway. They can even be used to keep you sheltered from wind if needed.

I vote for a clear plastic poncho for you, especially if you're not wearing maximum clothing underneath.
Don't forget about playa breezes, though.
