I've wondered that myself. I'm sure it has but probably not near as thick as it has been in Carson City. Here in Dayton it has thinned out a bit. I can barely make out the Pine Nuts and Virginia Range mountains, about two miles away which I haven't been able to do since Thursday evening. In todays Reno Gazette-Journal www.rgj.com an article stated that air quality in Reno was worse than Beijing.

Another article was about this years event and how burners bring in $35 million to the region. :D

You should see the mountains in the background so this tells me either they are having a dust storm or smoke at the moment. Either way it will not be as bad as Reno/Sparks.
You know it's going to be a bad day when you jump out of bed and miss the floor.

This afternoon while driving west on 50 into Carson City, I actually saw the Carson Range, clouds, hazy blue sky. Can see the mountains around the Dayton Valley, though hazy.
I don't know if it's me but it sure seemed cooler in the mornings during this smoke event.
Unfortunately the fire is only 7% contained, according to channel 8 news at 6:30, so if the wind shifts coming from the south, we will probably get it again.

Make sure the mask have an N95 or P100 on them. N95s are packed in twos at about $5.00 and P100s are roughly $10 each.
