I keep meaning to comment that his rants sound like they are right out of Rush's mouth. The loudness, the swagger, the sweeping generalizations, the "of course I'm right and they are wrong" attitude, peppered with the ad hominems, the attempts to get a chuckle. Just completely Rush rhetoric.theCryptofishist wrote:For all his ranting about "Democrats" (just how many democrats are on this board anyway) calico cowboy really just seems to by recycling the cheesiest opinions available. Probably got them at a Rush Limbaugh Legal Fund garage sale or something. Chipped and dusty the lot.

I really like this one and have heard it more than once this election and I do believe it is a total hoot:
BBC:
If you are interested in the national debt:
http://www.toptips.com/debtclock.html
I do believe we had a projected surplus before Bush and co. started screwing things up.
I'll always go with a tax and spender over a don't tax and spend like a drunken sailor. Anybody want to know what Bush's deficit is up to now?just as the leftist tax and spend liberals always do
BBC:
Yeah right. This year the CBO projects a record budget deficit of $477bn, falling to $365bn by 2005 as the economy improves.
President Bush says he will cut the deficit in half by 2009

I would gladly pay more taxes if they were spend responsibly, on social and health programs.
Our provincial government cut taxes, and closed hospitals, day cares, cut people off disability, gutted the parks programs (rangers), etc, etc. Wow. I have an extra $100. And less hospital services. Great, thanks.

I've puzzled at this one over night and really have trouble seeing Bob Dole and GHW Bush as anything but party hacks.calicowboy925 wrote:...the dems. I like to watch them scramble for a candidate and coming up empty.
I think the problem is in the vision processing centers, not in reality. All I see is lefties with their palms up for the govt. dole.

Hmmmm
Who oversaw the creation the Welfare State? Nixon
This was in direct response to the civil riots. Now we have nationally financed bread and circuses.
Who functionally dismantled the welfare system and reduced the size of the national govn't? Clinton
http://www.npr.org/templates/story/stor ... Id=1028904
This was in direct response to a strong economy.
Who now has a record (!) deficit? Bush
This was in direct response to a war that even his best advisors were against.
Who had a surplus at the end of his administration? Clinton
This was by listening to his advisors.
Who needs our tax money more?
Corporate welfare vs food/shelter/jobs for the truly needy.
Who truly has a handle on long term environmental impacts?
Al Gore wrote the book on sound environmental practices (Earth in the Balance: Ecology and the Human Spirit)
Bush snubbed the Global Warming conference and made a mockery of the Healthy Forests Restoration Act. http://forests.org/articles/reader.asp?linkid=19657
