Back to the real world and work today...
My hair is still twisted up dread style. I'm leaving it this way for now. My co-workers may not always get me but they like me.![]()
Quite so. As I recall from my Automobile Museum Docent days, Swedish iron ore has a lot of Vanadium in it. The Studebaker Brothers -- and other stage-coach and conestoga-wagon builders -- used the resulting steel for wheel rims. Later, Henry Ford used it for select automobile parts.ygmir wrote:... ...
I found some old hand drills a while back, if I remember, my dad said his dad brought them from Sweden........the steel rings almost like glass, as far as tone..........I thought of you. Those old stone cutters, made all their own tools, and I think had some interesting alloys and tempering techniques.
My first day back, my boss called me out on a staff call with all the other engineers, "Welcome back...tell us all about it". While I was giving a scattered and sanitized 30 second account, another engineer IM'd me and explained that he grew up in the area, used to work EMS at the event until 2007, and that if I hadn't I should try the ravioli at Bruno's.Captain Goddammit wrote:Here's me back at my default world job.
There's one guy here who went to BRC once, in 2010, as a DJ.
At least there ONE person I can talk about it with. I've learned not to even try with anyone else, just shut up about it.
You can't begin to make them understand.
New sig, anyone?delle wrote: Unfortunately, I also seem to have misplaced the notebook in which the answers were noted. It holds everything from "Whiskey" to a 2-page scribbled mass explaining string theory . . .
Thank Gaud!!! That one's EASY!!Mojojita wrote: Oh, and the "Whiskey" is my favorite answer.
Hi Savannah, yea, I missed meeting so many! Definitely next year! I'll be around more.Savannah wrote:I wish I'd met you, TinyMystic!
Well--next year.
I would consider that a compliment (if badly delivered).Mrpatatomoto wrote:My boss never even asked. Just bitched about how hard her job was without me there...

I'm having a serious case of post-playa blues. My bedroom is an absolute mess; there is dusty dirty crap all over the place and I can't seem to motivate myself to do any sort of cleaning. My cat sitter just came unannounced over to my place and reamed me out, accusing me of trying to duck out of paying her. I have not by any means been attempting to do that; I just haven't been attending to any sort of responsibilities over the past week because I'm so down. She refused to take a check and made me walk over to an ATM with her to take out cash. Welcome to the default world!
I met Trilo, Elliot, geospyder, and knowmad; it was such a joy to talk to all of them. I wish I had met more of you! I got very very drunk at my camp's prom party and didn't make it to the meet and greet.![]()
I loved it there. It was a motherfucking blast. All of the wonderful people, art, lights, dancing, temple crying; it was beautiful. I'll definitely be back. Hope all of you are well and had as wonderful a time as I did.
