we went to a wal mart in carson city. they were out of PBR and water suitcases.

Glad it worked out. And just FYI the weight of the can is mostly because of the FOOD in it, so putting it in plastic bags wouldn't have helped much.

we bought an entire box of canned food - as a backup for when the fresh food was either eaten or went bad.
DPW got an entire box of canned food as i left - they were stoked.
i was happily surprised by the fresh food that lasted all week. i only cooked once, and ate fine the whole time (albeit, i ate a lot less than i normally do).

When we left we were going to drop off a lot of canned goods at the Gate(we brought WAY too much food) and we were told that they had someone that cooked for them and that all they wanted/needed were snacks and alcohol.
