Just spoke with the courts, and the 30-day window to pay is not as concrete as the officer likely made it seem. The 30-day window is not a pay-or-fight it(guilty-plead not guilty) hard date. Rather, this is just the date at which a court date will be sent to you in the mail.
YOU HAVE UNTIL YOUR COURT DATE TO DECIDE WETHER OR NOT YOU ARE GOING TO FIGHT THE TICKET.
I confirmed with the court that there are NO consequences (long or short term) to paying after the 30-day window but before the court date. Obviously if you dont pay and dont show up for your court date there will be consequences.
Just thought I would pass the info along to those who got ticketed and are trying to decide wether or not to fight the ticket.

Here is another helpful link for anyone that got a ticket at the event:

Re: Info for those that got drug related tickets
Some tickets in other states can be contested remotely.
I don't know if this applies in this case, but it may be worth checking.

Re: Info for those that got drug related tickets
I dont believe that is the case here. You can hire a lawyer to represent you so you dont have to travel. But as far as I know you or someone representing you has to physically be at court.

Bump.
Wondering if anyone has had their court date yet and how it went. Pretty sure there was a round in November.
