Sounds like your day is going great, VC!

It was a foggy start to the day here....then the sun burned off the fog and it turned into a beautiful fall day! Leaves are changing but haven't reached their peak yet but it won't be long!

Boss has a physical therapy appointment tonight, so I'll be out of here by 6pm. I just learned I'm getting a substantial tax refund from 2012. There's a half bottle of rum waiting at home for me.

Yep. It's a good day.

I was in Cali for 2 weeks duty years ago and a few of us drove from Oxnard to Van Nuys to go to Krispy Kreme, we didn't have one in MN yet and that was a treat for us!
Of course I had to stand right next to the viewing window and watch the whole donut making process from start to glazed finish!

VC, I have to find that picture of your crocheted cougar to show my mom. I was telling her about it today when we were out shopping for more crochet string for her snowflakes that she's been crocheting.

((((VC)))) hooray for you! Having a great week eh? 8)

(((ORed))) I always have Irish 8) 8) 8) And some ginger-lemon cordial Graidawg brought me from London. Also this year he brought me: Bovril, which is working miracles for me today as I am sickening for something myself. :| I will pile them up here by the NEB so we can snooze our way to health again.

Our weather here is that chilly-in-the-shade kind of sunny, with bright blue skies. We get the best weather here in the fall. 8) 8) 8)

Mr MikeGyver, I have my fingers crossed for your car!

Martiansky, I have that same weakness for hot glazed, oooooh...

(((BInNoddin))) my dear, I will be incarcerated in a cubicle tomorrow and the next day for 12 hours at a stretch, but planning a drive up to Baugher's in Westminster on Sunday. Apples, dumplings, pie... :D :D :D

Really pleasant weather here, I wish I were outside, but, gotta pay the bills. More cleaning, sorting and storing of the things scheduled for the weekend.

Dougly! Good to see you, and VC, BVB, Martiansky, My Dear Friend, Red, AntiM, any I missed.
Live at the Met is starting their new season soon. tonight there is a Live digital broadcast in the theatre near me of a Pompei exhibit From The British Museum ? Looks like the digital live broadcast is growing some variety, that's neat. Still it's past my bedtime for a weekday. Might go, and just go to the coffee more tomorrow.

The steak looks awesome, and then MDF mentioned apples and pie, and I guess it's near dinner time.
I have some chicken, and a can of adobo chili sauce... but I want hot apple pie.

Wow Red & (((MDF))) under the weather. Feel better quickly, kiddies. There is a boatload of living to be done.

Hump day almost gone and a long weekend ahead. Pottery, tennis and a day at the hot springs Pretty good duty, I'd say

On that note; an amusing tidbit: There is a committee at work here in Clearlake to arrange a Steampunk type of event in October 2014. They asked me to join in with my Kinetic Sculpture Racing vehicles or whatnot. One thing they need right away is a logo for the event. So I connected them with our very own Killbuck. I gave him five elements that ought to be in the logo, such as a steamship and a wine bottle -- and maybe they could be one and the same.

So Killbuck knocked out a First Draft sketch with his free hand while he was brushing his teeth this morning, and the committee members are all agog. It's a side-wheeler wine-bottle storming across Clear Lake. I won't post the art without his permission, but I think we have "the beginning of a beautiful relationship".

From what I understand, the date is set. Everything else is still being dreamed up, but they have already been in contact with many of the burner / handcar races / steampunk / goofy-bicycles people in Santa Rosa, for example. The idea is to draw these folks, and their audiences, from all around, to our scenic rural lakeside setting here in Lake County. So we can get our hands on their money.

There is talk of model steamboat races on the loch.

One of my co-workers just worked the train races in Santa Rosa. It was a steam punk affair. I made her costume. The same company puts on the refreshments at the SF Dickens fair, The Ren Faire, the Vallejo pirates festival and plenty of other events. It's a very reputable group. She said it was layed out poorly. I think the company she works for is Red Barn. They may not participate in the Santa Rosa thing next year.

*leave Rabbit to forage and hunt*

Hi gang!

*buries war ax deep in beam, while exclaiming "FOOGIN HUMANS!!"*

well, back from Ventura...........I think I got most stuff sorted, and a few humans "sorted".
Really? Some people are just a waste of good air!!

ah well *tears "lifes rearview mirror" off and throws it away"......not looking back.

Dang I missed a lot!!

from earlier, I'll address what I know of the bar anagrams that have not been covered:

ECM: Elorrums Coffee Machine
COCK: couch of carnal knowledge
IBBOD: infinite bean bag of debauchery
CCCP: coffee, cream, chocolate, peppermint schnaaps (alternate endings: W.. whiskey, B.. brandy)
ROS: recliner of submission

ABB: automatic banjo box
HOSPV: hammock of sexual perversion

there are tons more, but can't think of them in this state of mental and emotional fatigue.

I'd vote Elorrum mayor, too. I'd also see her, though, as asthetics director and a founding member of the "inventor/builder council".

In ancients Viking times, one defense for murder at the "Alting" was "he needed killing".........
I vote it be returned to our laws............

And thanks for the COCK acronym. I have the vision for a camp right now that would be a never ending COCK with a NEB. A huge couch cobbled together by removing the arm sections and placing the couches into a giant rectangle with the center open, and covered in a giant custom never ending blanket.

You know, I've wondered for months what ROS meant, but kept forgetting to ask.

I think I thought it was a place, and not a thing. Like some sort of man cave, or pagan treehouse, or something.

(I'd missed IBBOD and HOSP(V) entirely, but they're cracking me up.)
