Ticket history

Post by jbelson » Fri Oct 29, 2004 3:12 pm

Someone was tellinng me that last year was not the first time they've done online ticketing for the event. Is this true? Have they had it in 1999-2001?
From what I remember hearing from stories, people sent in ticket requests via mail.
Whats the scoop?

Fyi-It's my friend who works at ticketweb thats saying this and that they handled the ticket sales for those years. Just wannna know if my bullshit detector is working.

The Internet Archive Wayback Machine at http://www.archive.org/ has archived versions of the main website. Ticketweb apparently was used in 1999. Doubt whether online ticketing was used previously. FWIW, prior to 1997 the main website was at istorm.com/burningman/, I believe, but it isn't cached in the archive. Could also try poking around via the Google Usenet archive -- http://groups.google.com/.
