Gate can be a ton of fun, I am an Apex lead there, and it's a blast. it is, what you make it really.
I work mostly Perimeter, but, it's good to be "rounded", knowing how stuff works in other depts. too.

Now, now , now calm down, Mister. I don't lurk. It is one of those insulting labels for non- participating "guests". I always log on and politely announce myself here in the community. I do so because I like and care about many of you and, of course to (quietly) keep track of you fuckos... (It's a dirty job. But someone has to do it!) Seriously, you know me to be a very shy, modest and retiring soul that can't possibly interact with you clever and glib bar people. Besides... About half of the crew is, or has lately been, afflicted with germs of an unknown variety. You people have been sharing drinks again, haven't you?

I was raised on cross-country drives when Dad was in the Navy and he changed coasts a few times. When I was a teen, my friend and I wanted to get a van and just trip across country. No thought of how we'd pay for it. But we were cute! She fell out of my life in 85, I was in the Navy and she was into the recreational life in LA. Miss her. And now I get my long drive fixes when I go on the truck with Larry. I can't drive, but I do love the road under my bum.

Oh yeah. I'm not so important that I get to work. The 866 info number has been inaccessible all day from when I woke up at six. Finally got through an hour or so ago. Nothing on it I didn't know. But since that's how we are supposed to know when to go back to work, I have to say, the system might be less than perfect. Speaking of which, one of the 7 things we were supposed to do today was fill out our time cards... People weren't able to get in because so many people were trying to access at once. Hundreds of thousands, maybe.
Went to the ferry building, had coffee, bought my last (probably) pluots of the year and my first persimmons. Took the ferry across the bay. Can't get on deck, so I didn't have the wind in my hair. *sniff* Dawdled a bit on the way home from Jack London Square. The elevator at 12th Street was out, so I had to go to 19th. Those are two of the more hidden BART elevators.
Took a nap.
Went to the library.
Living the life of ease...
