UK newbie
A UK newbie here, thought I'd say hi. Most of my friends call me 'mousse'. Looking forward to heading out next year. Don't know how I'll get there, but I'm sure it'll be an adventure.

Re: UK newbie
Are you willing to team up with Firemoose and make a large even-toed ungulate and tasty dessert camp?

I have no idea what that is but it sounds really interesting. Teaming up sounds good too.

You'll go far at Burning Man with that sort of cooperative spirit!moosemousse wrote:I have no idea what that is but it sounds really interesting. Teaming up sounds good too.
FYI, Firemoose is a member here on eplaya.

When he puts out his lamp, he sends the flower, or the star, to sleep.
That is a beautiful occupation.

More than likely you'll be flying...trains don't work. Now, a nice long cruise would be fun. Commit to going, start the planning and things will start to fall into place.moosemousse wrote:Don't know how I'll get there, but I'm sure it'll be an adventure.

Re: UK newbie
It was my odd sense of humor, I'm afraid. Firemoose is another member of the board. Deer are even-toed ungulates and moose are deer. Mousse is a tasty desert. So, I was inventing a camp and setting you up with a campmate. It's meant to be silly and fun and even though it's teasing you, I hope it encouraged other people to stop by and say welcome.moosemousse wrote:I have no idea what that is but it sounds really interesting.

I'm always willing to stop by for mousse or moose! Doubly pleased if both are around, so I like your idea, Fishy.

Welcome to eplaya.
Savannah: I don't know what it is, but no thread here escapes alive. You'll get 1 or 2 real answers at minimum, occasionally 10 or 12, and then we flog it until it's unrecognizable and you can't get your deposit back.

Thanks for the welcomes.

Flying to Reno is the plan. Getting from Reno to Burning Man is the tricky part.dragonpilot wrote:More than likely you'll be flying...trains don't work. Now, a nice long cruise would be fun. Oh, right! I've never seen the term 'even-toed ungulate' before.theCryptofishist wrote:It was my odd sense of humor, I'm afraid. Firemoose is another member of the board. Hey there,
I went for the first time this year, part of the excellent Barbie Death Village. My P6 camp mates arrived a few days earlier than me due to my limited holiday time, but I found the trip from Melbourne-LA-Reno-BM pretty straightforward in the end. There are a few ride share sites you can register on and will get a lift in from Reno with no problems. In the end, I used the Burner Express as it was leaving 30 mins after my flight landed and gets you there really quickly - you can either head in directly or they stop at a supermarket, you bypass the queues to the playa and it was a lot of fun on the bus chatting to everyone.

1. Pick up a hire RV (reserve today!)
2. Pick up a hire car (reserve tomorrow!)
3. Stop by the Air Playa Info desk (at Baggage Claim) and hitch a ride (which usually includes stops for food/water/gear.
