If you think people are avoiding you because of your RACE, maybe you should drink some water and look around. Do we LOOK like we care? Some guy just clattered by on a home-made, steam-powered, eight-legged metal crawler. Do you honestly think I'm looking at YOU and saying "Oh wow. There goes the neighborhood! Looks like we got ourselves another (insert random racial slur here)".
Naw. Leave your Defaultia sensitivities at the Gate and learn to enjoy what happens. If people are avoiding you, this means you have other problems. Ones that are not skin-deep.

RACIST statements are not topics to argue or discuss, they are simply wrong. I'm with Eric, and everyone else who has said the same: don't bring that stuff in here.

And I will stand right here with you. This is utterly foul. We could say that "blah, blah, blah... English political traditions of fair blah, blah, blah" and there might be something there. Not much, but something. And somehow, Chinese and Japanese are more obedient is your next remark? They don't like order, they just like being told what to do...Eric wrote:Why is it always the people who spew hateful statements (in your case, dissing the entire planet who isn't "white") who run behind the "free speech" or "radical inclusion" banners? I stand by my opinion: your statement was racist bullshit, and was about as welcoming and inclusive to non-white people as a sign saying "whites only" on the gate. I would call you out loudly in person for saying something like that, I see no reason to let it pass here.

Re: I feel Burning Man is a White thing
So is the OP hoping for one of these "embrace diversity" camps or something? People getting their "hello <person-from-race>" quota in?
As said before: get over yourself. Maybe people weren't lining up to shake your hand because quite frankly race isn't a big deal to most people there. You're not a celebrity, so don't expect to be treated as such. In a colorblind society don't expect to be treated special because of your race.
Burning Man a white event? That just depends on who attends and is willing to make the trip. We see a disproportionate number of people from the US there too. And from the Western US. And from the SF Bay area. Deal with it.
Hell, there's this huge Indian Holi festival at a temple in central Utah. You know who attends? Mostly bunches of Mormon white kids from BYU trying to get some religious diversity credit in a fun way. What the hell? An Indian festival with a bunch of Mormon white people? At least at the end everyone is in a variety of colors. In the end, the demographics of that festival are mostly defined by who goes. The same way with this event.
Feel free to change the demographics by inviting whomever you choose. Don't expect some sort of diversity policy to enforce that though. That kind of PC bullshit would be one of the nails in the coffin of this event.

WOW are you for real? Some people also are of the opinion that whites are smarter than blacks. Both those "opinions" are racist bullshit propaganda. And you are correct.
