Re: Tutu Tuesday - It's Happening
Before this year, I found this "tutu Tuesday" convention mildly annoying. However, this year I'm actually going to build a tutu for Halloween. It's going to be variegated orange/red/hot pink, I already bought the fabric. Must bring out the sewing machine and then my Decompression will be over. Anyway, next year I will be armed with tutu. I may end up donating it to some deserving eplayan as I can't see myself jumping in and out of the Poop Mobile with all that fluff on fucking kick-my-ass-Tuesday, and I DON'T want to store it forever,
Re: Tutu Tuesday - It's Happening
Sounds like an engineering problem, Robbidobs. A convert-a-tutu, that works in and out of a car. Ratty? you there?

You could put the tulle in other places, like as fluffy bracelets or as a band around a baseball cap.

Glad you are coming around, Robbidobbs -- even if only for Halloween.robbidobbs wrote:Before this year, I found this "tutu Tuesday" convention mildly annoying....,
Of course it is silly. It is absolutely ridiculously pointless, which gives us the opportunity to forget about war, famine, politics, disease, finances, grueling overwork, unemployment, misguided relatives, noisy garbage trucks, house fires, and all the other worries of the Default World. Instead we (those of us who choose to) live one blissful day a year wearing a fricken tutu, to general amusement and mental relief.
Tutu Tuesday is a deliberate distraction from our everyday toil, like the rest of Burning Man. Tutu Tuesday is an art project. All hail the Glorious Tutu!

Hi Robbi, If it's alright with you......at the next burn I'll be at your camp on Tuesday before 7am We'll wear tutus on patrol. Pleeeeese. You can still dress like a pilgrim Quaker with your moop apron and bonnet. We'll just add tutus. Come on. It'll be fun. If they get in the way we can wear them like bustles.

Re: Tutu Tuesday - It's Happening
I can sure relate to not enjoying fluffy tutus. My first one ended up as a shade hat within less than an hour.
This year, tho, I tried something different, which really worked for me. Kinda tux-like. Straight down off a buckled wrap around, mostly in the back. Nothing more in the way than a long coat.
So I got to have my tutu and like it too!

Re: Tutu Tuesday - It's Happening
The tutu survived x3 wearings during Halloween week. Very comfortable, but fucking annoying in/out of Gramma Car.
I'm totally bringing it this year just because I can, and yes, Ratty, let's do Tuesday in style!

Hello tutu enthusiasts!
I had so much fun making a tutu for Elliot last year that I'd like to gift another one this year! I've got to make a run to the fabric store for tulle for another project and thought I'd get some extra for new tutu for me
and one to give away. Any takers?

Hi, cherryblossom! I may be a little late, but if the offer stands I would be very happy and grateful to accept! I have a black tutu in mind with some white and/or grey accent mixed in to go with my rather monochromatic black and white stripey outfit (B&W corset, B&W stripey tights).cherryblossom73 wrote:Hello tutu enthusiasts!

Am I far too late?

Tutus are a lifestyle for me on the playa. I have one for each day that I'll be out there. (Including early arrival!) We'll be there a day longer than last year, thus the need for another tutu.Monkeystyle wrote:I already have two I made months ago lol
Elliot, I have a campmate who is supposed to be borrowing a bike from you and helping you out a little...I am planning on #1: helping her find you and #2: giving you a big hug.Elliot wrote:.

Blompson, it's yours!! And that color scheme sounds awesome! If you would, please let me know your waist size. (You can PM me if you'd like!) I will definitely be headed to the fabric store again very soon and will get all the necessary goodies. I think we're on the same side of the city, so arranging for delivery should be no problem.Blompson wrote: Hi, cherryblossom!
