I had the most wonderful burn this year! I made new friends, saw old friends, and just tuned into the hum of the playa! It was a year of redemption, forgiveness, love, patience, wilding , smart-assing , heel kicking, reflecting, and way too much junk food!

Plans are in the making for next year!

I finally got around to vacuuming the travel trailer. It has carpet not only on the floor but on the walls and ceiling as well.
And then I had pie.

I had an awesome weekend! I found out there are burners in Spokane and the surrounding area! We had our first annual decompression. We camped in a nice little place in the wooded hills near Valley, WA. I posted a video in FB, but don't know how to post it in here.

Camping decomps are the best!
A rather large group of burner friends had an ALT-DEcomp taht featured fireworks, guns, kids, dogs, mattress burning, anvil launching, and fuel mine fireballs. Other than that it was totally like being in a bar

Our Portland (OR) decomp was pretty cool. T'was at a big club that looked abandoned, located in the seedy waterfront warehouse district which made it pretty rad for me. The only fire we had was a single burn barrel. The venue owner never got around to sending the fire dept his permission that it was approved by him that we do fire. He apologized.

Mmmmm...Fall is in the air! I have a turkey breast in the4 oven that's just about ready to come out, with mashed taters, candied yams, dressing, green beans and dinner rolls! My mouth is watering way too much!

Yesterday, Sunday October 27th it was 73 here. Around 12:30pm we went to Carson City for a late lunch and grocery shopping. When we departed, our front yard had about five inches of leaves on it. A cold front started coming in and the wind picked up. We got home around 5:30 and all the leaves were gone and pear tree in the front was naked, empty of leaves.
This morning, about 04:00am, we woke up to about 1/2 inch of snow with a few flakes still falling.

I was finally able to gift an airplane ride to someone this past weekend. I had promised him at Burning Man but we never got around to it. I made good this past Saturday. Made us both happy.

This made me happy today: a town in Norway has figured out how to use 3 large mirrors to shine the sun down into their dark valley. (Before this, they were in perpetual shadow from September to March.)

39 years ago today, also on a Friday the 13th, I married the most wonderful woman in the world!

I am one lucky guy!

I just love Friday the 13th.

In a drunken stuper of Friday the 13th 2004 I told a man I'd been corresponding with (on an internet site I was moderating at the time) in just a friendly way that I just fucking loved the way he thought... Turned out he felt the same way.

We met for the first time in person on the 13th of April later that year -- not a friday.

He asked my father for my hand in marriage on Friday the 13th of August in 2004. We married a year later.

None of it was planned that way, but it has all ended up being very VERY lucky for us.

YAY to finding the right person, and YAY to Friday the 13ths.


Today there's a 400million lottery draw. If I do nothing else with my day, I really should purchase a ticket.... just because.

A social movement about keeping promises to yourself. Neat idea, kinda touching.

Alex Sheen’s father died of small cell lung cancer on September 4th, 2012. His father was good with his promises, so Alex titled his father’s eulogy “because I said I would” and created the promise card in his memory. Eventually Alex would decide to resign from his corporate position in order to advance because I said I would’s mission.

Alex is now works to better of humanity through the importance of a promise in what little ways he can. It started by waking up early before going to work and handwriting letters to people thanking them for requesting promise cards. This dedication continued to develop as he began fulfilling charitable promises. These promises include getting 100 tickets to Disneyland for children with cancer and walking 245 miles across the entire state of Ohio in 10 days to raise awareness for the victims of sexual violence (a promise he made to Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight).

I'm back home from Whidbey Island. For the most part I had a wonderful time. I stayed at a friend of my sister. it's a marvelous place it has history behind it! Mommy is doing well! Her color is good, her blood count is going up! Still the same feisty, loving mom! She looked really good! I had such a wonderful time with her. I was so hard to say "see you later". I wanted to just bring her home and take care of her.

I'm hoping to see her in 2 weeks! For now, my joints are stiff and hurt some, but it was so nice to see my mom, my sister and her hubby, and my 'almost' 9 year old niece!
