Thank you very much for my necklace. I had forgotten all about it and thus was very surprised. I coincidentally bought a rock tumbler as a Xmas present for my housemate and having been inspired by your rock drilling and polishing adventures, on your other thread, think it might be a fun little pastime.
We moved into a house about 7 yrs ago that was owned by a lapidary. While cleaning up the yard we found waist -high buckets of rocks. Every kind you can imagine. We did'nt have the heart to toss any of them and instead we filled trashcans full of them, and put them on the side of the house. Thank you for the inspiration to get started on that again.

getting up the nerve to try ceramic in my toy. Would the rough stuff be too harsh--my guess is that stoneware is a lowish moh and porcelien lower still. Or am I talking through my hat?
