Man, today's been a real pain i the butt so far. Aside from lots of hassles and annoyances, the kitten's been in 'turbo squid' mode all morning, racing around every square inch at top speed. She's knocked stuff over, and just when you think she's tuckered out and is slowing down or maybe going to take a nap, off she goes in a different direction at full speed again. Sure, there are a lot worse problems to have, I just wish I had the time to spend playing with her.

Trilobyte, when my cats were in the perpetually hyper kitten stage, I had great luck with a feather/toy attached to a long piece of elastic and either tied to a door knob, hung from a door way, or otherwise attached to something stationary. It kept them busy for a while at least when I couldn't stop what I was doing to try and wear them out.

I have a job interview in half an hour. Wish me luck!

Trilo,
At least the squid hasn't discovered time travel, and isn't racing around every quadratic inch.
I tell you, it's a sad, sad day when your kitten discovers the grandfather paradox.

Good luck with the job interview!

Yeah, she has a lot of fun with her toys, both the fixed and mobile stuff. She just had a lot of energy to burn off (my morning game of fetch with her got cut short), she's gone back to normal and is napping someplace. I wouldn't put time travel and quantum physics past her, there are times when that kitten is nowhere to be found, and others where she seems to be getting into everything in the loft all at once.

Maggie is still discovering her limbs and invisible motes in the air. Cats can see things we can't to be sure. She goes thru remarkably fast sleep/play cycles. This doesn't work well at night when the humans want to sleep. Sarah is still dubious about this whole new kitten in the house deal. Today I bought x2 diff kinds of harnesses for Maggie. She's going to be a leash kitty! I've never done this w another cat, and I've been waiting for years to have a kitten to train to a leash.

Maggie didn't understand the laser pointer and Sarah's too pissed off to notice right now.

Laser pointer at ready on piano pending kitty armistice.

I used to tell my friend Joe that when his cat was rushing from room to room--judging by the importance, fervency and velocity with which he flew--Hailey was actually engaged in deeply essential work fixing rips and tears in the Space-Time Continuum.

Only one of my cats enjoys the laser pointer, Harry; watching all 20 pounds of him leaping up the wall is awesome. He'll sort through things on my bedside table until he finds the pointer, then he pats it or throws it on the floor and stares at me until I pick it up for him.

Larry has a student driver. Means he'll be on the road long days.

Laser pointers used to freak out a cat we used to have. After he passed, we'd bust out a laser pointer and let the cats have fun chasing them, but soon they started paying more attention to the source of the light than the dot on the floors and wall...so we stopped with the lasering again, figuring that looking into a laser was as bad for them as it was for humans.

Hi gang.
good call on the "no laser in the cats eyes" thing Trilo.......I doubt they have the vestigial eye covering Spock had that kept him from going blind killing the flying eggs of Deneva.

Got new chains for my bigger saw yesterday, I forgot how fast a new chain cuts!! no, I'm not limping.

HI MDF!! so, are you coming back to earth after the "grand adventure" north?

*slides into the IBBOD, just to see what it's like*

Yes Yggy! Quite down to earth now. Just ran out for an international postage stamp for the last of the little notes I sent to all the folks we stayed with. Too much fun 8) and I wonder why it took me so long to realize I could just take off and do that. :? In fact I want to do that again, in a couple months, a journey twice as far (5K miles!) to see my friends in the south-west. 8) 8) 8) We'll see. I have hope for the future.

Oh shoot I just typed out a long thing about how we could have a real NEB at the next M&G, but it disappeared. :? I will take that as a Sign. Where is my :coffee:

Hi MDF!! see the IBBOD is not such a bad spot, comfy and soft and warm.......

Funny, because I was hoping to work out a SW trip, too.
Just gotta work funding around the Amtrackathon at the end of Jan.
ah well, we'll see I guess.

yeah ya know over the years, many have discussed starting a real "NEB", I almost want to say someone did start making one some time ago. Fishy I'm sure would know, maybe AntiM or Piney?

We tried to make one the year of the eplaya Bar Camp. I refused to take it home, as I didn't think I was ever coming back. Forgot to whom it went.

I ended up taking a bunch of assorted fabrics including clothes and underwear. Started to sew some of it but could not figure out how to put it all together. Wasn't enough to male a sizeable blanket at that point. Brought it back the next year and some of it got parted out or used for other things. Don't remember if I brought any of it back to the default again. If I did it all went up in smoke.

Hey, it's GH!! good to seeya Pal!

it'd be interesting to know what has become of some of the first "eplayans"........others not so much.
But things here were "robust" when I joined, and in reading some of the old stuff at that time, down right wild! More edgy, for sure, some might say "aggressive", but there was an undercurrent that all were friends on some level.

Morning, YG. Guess we are mellowing a bit as we age. Beautiful Friday here. Going to the opera tonight to see Wagner's Flying Dutchman. Should be fun. An NEB at the MNG could be a welcome cuddle corner. actual not virtual for a change. Dives in to the NEB we have. :coffee: :coffee: :coffee: 8)
