My bunny T-Rex in his younger days. He is getting old now (13 + years) and developing some bald spots, but is just as cuddly as ever.

Nope, his demonic posession gives him an insatiable appetite for the souls of green vegetables and hay.

Re: ePlaya Pets
harley , my daugther Rachaels dog , i miss him
He lived 12 years , kept getting out
came home shot thru the upper back. He made it home and layed down in his favorite spot. I seen him out there and wondered why he's just layin around. I go out and he raises his head to see me . I pet him and find the wound , I treat him inside , and he wants to go out. The bullet looked like it went thru the upper fold of his skin, and he was moving around. So i let him out and he went to his fav spot and lyed down. He passed just after that
He was chow-lab mix

Concur, and the dog ain't nothing to sneeze at either.
This is my nick namesake (sort of):

His name is Buddy. He's 5 years old now but has pancreatic cancer and won't be with us much longer. He has to eat every 4 hours to keep his blood sugar up. He's having a reasonably comfortable time of it so far. I don't know how I will muster the courage when it's time. When I come home, it's "Dino" time, I can't imagine how I will walk through the door the first time after he's gone.
But for now I'm just trying to make a very good friend as comfortable as I can.

oh man this just kills me...damn. But you got it right in that last sentance of yours. Just remember when it's time and he goes to console yourself that you gave him an awesome and stellar life. Sweet dog, they treasure us.

What they don't say--at least not when they say that--is that heartache is the price we pay for being human, and skipping it is not good for our souls. Or even our hearts...

Re: ePlaya Pets
Dozer was an accidental dog. We weren't looking for another pet but a friend of a friend was being shipped out to Germany with the AirForce and Germany outlaws 'Pitt bull type dogs' so his owner had to find him a new home despite their heartbreak. Dozer's 4 years old and was found by his prior owners at the pound when he was a little over a year old because his first owners surrendered him for being 'too unagressive'. They wanted a guard dog and Dozer is ANYTHING but! He is affectionate to EVERYBODY and wants nothing else but to smother you in kisses! We think he's part DojoArgentino based on his one blue eye and that he bays like a hound dog. He's about 65lbs of cuddles and lap dog!
Chloe is a 55lb Shaffordshire Terrier Mix. We found her at our local shelter so we're guessing she's about 7 now. She's recently started having problems with her ACL (knee). She is stubborn and brave and an all out wiggle butt! We call her 'fatty' (endearingly of course) because her one of her ONLY weaknesses is food!

Aww. Look at that Valentine!
Such sweet faces on all these beasties.
Phoenix, I am especially happy that you got Dozer. I shudder to think of someone trying to change his nature.

Me too... He has ligature scars on his 'wrists' not sure what those are from but it couldn't have been good... He still displays fear and avoidance behaviors with loud noises and whenever someone lifts anything over his/her head. I don't like thinking about what might have happened to him when he was a pup.

It is horrible to run into a dog that has those sorts of issues. It's like looking at a menacing monster's traces on a loving heart.

Reviving the thread because someone finally managed to get a good picture of my dog. It was the holiday fundraiser for the rescue group that I got Robbie from. If only the background weren't from the 80's.

That FACE. Hi Robbie!
I'm not sure that photo loses anything by having such a background.
I'd smack some pastel holiday font on it and send it round as my Christmas card.
