well, house cleaning today.........again. Went grocery shopping yesterday! damn! 6 people in every line, full, full carts. I bet it took 40 minutes just to get through the checkout.

Yeah they carry them, unjon, but the markup at retail is unfucking-believable (which is what I thought Captain Goddammit was posting about). It's often ten times or more, and suddenly you're spending bug money on replacement batteries for tiny and inexpensive things. We keep our batteries in one place where we live - when we put the last of a particular watch size into a device, we put another card of them in the cart or wish list or whatever at amazon, and then next time we put in an order for something we include it in the order (I don't think it even increases the cost of shipping).

Ouch, yggy, that sounds like one seriously painful shop! Damn, cuz I know we need to make a run too. I had wanted to avoid it, but we've been slacking and here we are. Fortunately we're not in the same mad rush, so we can just take a few deep breaths and get a laugh out of the craziness.

Picklebacks with tequila are AWESOME if you use good quality tequila, and SWEET pickle juice. Not regular dill pickle juice. Totally different.

Oh I know I can get batteries online way cheaper, I just needed some NOW (I use that light at work every morning). It still seems crazy that the same store sells the same light with the same batteries right there on the rack two feet away from just the batteries without the light, 20 cents cheaper with the light.

What exactly is a pickleback [okay never mind, found that]and okay, I guess, geez I drink straight Bushmills because I like the taste as it is. But tequila is a different matter. I think I know where to find sweet pickle juice.

Looks more like nougat. But there is CERTAIN to be marzipan in that box -- Norwegians love marzipan. Maybe the white round ones in the foreground with two chocolate stripes. But often the marzipan is hidden inside a covering of chocolate -- they have big candy bars like that, called marzipan "bread" or "loaf".

The base commissary stocks marzipan candy for the holidays, mostly German. Right now they have the Mozart candies and the cute fruit shaped things, and the pigs. They do have the Ritter Sport marzipan bar all year. See's does a dark chocolate marzipan too.

The thing about the Seattle rain is the measurement numbers don't tell the story. It's almost always raining this fine mist that doesn't accumulate a big number but it's still always wet out except for a couple days in summer while I'm away in Nevada.
