Next year's winter holidays? That's too far out to plan. On the New Years day itself, probably sleeping off the New Years night.

No plans, as yet. Work the day after Thanksgiving so someone's there to woman the phones while other people have the day off for family or extreme shopping...

Thanksgiving: spend it with my Native American friends, reliving the first Thanksgiving at the casino.
Christmas morning: I hook up my bicycle chariot, gather a dozen care packages holding food, clothes, toiletries, and booze, get a babe to ride in back and hand out the packages to the worst of the worse I can find living on the street. I call it Booze to Bums.
Christmas night: Black Christmas with my local punk rock friends.

It's open to the public, and perfect for those who are yearning to be in the Desert again, if only for a few days...

Oh fuck! I wish I knew about Jingle Burn sooner! That looks like about the only way to put the fun and magic back into Xmas and New Years that has been gone for so long.
Next year...

It's like a throw back to the BM roots, $35 for a ticket that's almost 2 weeks long, no Police/LEO and 1,000 great Souls and Cool music and Art Installations, and a vast open Desert.... Who could ask for more...
You're in Seattle what's the Holiday Haps?...

Holiday haps here are nothing I give a shit about and that sounds exactly like going to burning man in about 1990.
I'm so dying that I'll miss it but I would have needed to know sooner to make it happen this year.
It'd be a long god damn trip from Seattle, but other people go to BRC from even further.
I'd probably have to leave the boat at home - too heavy.

Re: Your Holiday Plans 2014...
I fucking love Christmas. Love, love, love it!!!!
I'm Jewish, so there's no family landmines to navigate. No entertaining, cooking, cleaning or long drives. My parents are in the Caribbean for three weeks, so they call me infrequently and I can use their house which has a freakin sauna. Their garage is also useful for those fun little construction projects I've been thinking about, and my dog can run around their yard.
Christmas day I binge eat the traditional food of my people (Chinese takeout) and binge watch animated Christmas specials all day, and then live action all night which usually ends with me clutching a wine bottle while singing along to the Sound of Music. (I am 16 going on 17...)
And then, I go back to the office and eat everyone's leftovers. Italian, Polish and Puerto Rican leftovers for a week.

My parents have both passed so,the only family I have in Canada is my sister and her 2 sons. The oldest moved to Calgary a couple of months ago, and won't be coming home for the holidays. I'll spend Christmas Eve and Boxing Day with my sister and younger Nephew. Christmas Day, I generally spend at the movies.

Re: Your Holiday Plans 2014...
Boxing Day, December 26th, gets the name "boxing" because the landed gentry would put leftovers from their x-muss dinner into boxes and distribute to the poor. It is what the brits call a "banking holiday" which is roughly equivalent to a federal holiday in the states.
I have no idea how the canadians deal with it.

Re: Your Holiday Plans 2014...
It's a federal holiday for us. However most stores are open, and it's a crazy day for shopping and getting great deals... Kind of like our equivalent of Black Friday

I didn't even know that Thanksgiving had come and past until this past Friday. So yeah, likely nothing. It's not like there would be any place to go to or anything to do in my area anyway.

"by accident"? I hope it's nothing bad...
Sounds like you're going to be filling your time with good things. Yay for you and everyone involved.
I never did Thanksgiving, either of them (CDN or US), and I never really do much in the way of Christmas dinner either. This year I'm inviting all stragglers with nothing better to do for a potluck. No gifts. No getting gussied up. (last year's theme was "pyjamas or ball gowns" -- some even managed to pull off both together quite well. There's something quite appealing about a man in a ballgown). Everyone gets a hat. I have LOTS of hats!!!
Snowsuits and skates are a must, perhaps a fire in the snow. Certainly one in the fireplace.

Re: Your Holiday Plans 2014...
Delle, your xmas party sounds great! Wish I could be there.
Oh and my accidental week off
just kinda happened, when I asked for a day off to see the midnight show of The Hobbit, then later one to go see the Met broadcast of "Falstaff" and then later asked for a day to do cookies, and one to go get my son... oh and a day to cook for the office xmas party.
I totally missed the fact that these days all connected up! And I hope my boss doesn't think I was trying to scam her.

Giving a playa-fur hat that I made to a virgin friend who's joining me in 2014. An oversized silver bow seemed like an appropriate way to wrap it.
