Morning AntiM, Captain G and anyone else who may be lurking.

Rained like a son of a bitch last night and thought surely no tennis tomorrow morning. But today, things are dry and the sun is coming up and the live camera shot of the court shows it drying nicely, so "tennis on" this morning. Will have my coffee with only milk this morning .... but tonight, big party!

Some kind of harrowing drive over the mountains from Harbin Hot Springs to Santa Rosa last night. Heavy rain, fog, winding roads, very hard to see and temps close to freezing. For me, more adventure than I really wanted, but the hot springs in a 38 degree air temp environment was really great. Sure surprised me!

Sorry it's so cold for so many of you. Magic Marty hugs to all to warm things up. Have a great day, kiddies

Good Morning Bar! Marty, what an adventure! Enjoy your day, and teach the fuzzy ones a lesson.
Warmer here today. Two boxes of parts delivered by UPS yesterday, amplifier bits, speaker bits, blinky bits, foghorn bits, for gifting and Burning Man. Lots to do indoors today.
New bar is still a bit empty, not sure if it's a lasting one, but the coffee maker works.

*rides in through snow drifts on War Rabbit, brisk, invigorated, takes him to stall for carrots and beef*
This, is "our" weather!!!

6" or so of snow, 28 deg. I went out in sweat pants and clogs to clear areas to feed the birds......boy are they hungry!! I have to sweep off areas to dirt so they can find and get the seed, so do about 6 so there is room for all to take turns.
Came in, crocs filled with snow, can't feel feet, breathing hard in that cold, brisk air........Viking life!! well, close enough for today! Big fire in the wood stove, made CCCP.

Here's what outside looks like:

Brrrrrr, Yggy! But it looks so nice through the window, especially with your nice warm stove going!

Here it's chilly but just a few clouds and mostly sunny, with our storm expected later today. The thermometer outside shows almost 40f. I'm now in the process of bundling up to ride in Cottonwood's parade... the trike can be cold to ride even on a relatively warm day.

Maybe another fancy :coffee: is in order before heading out. 8)

What a beautiful view. I have Mt. Ogden out my front window, but my bedroom windows are high and narrow lengthwise. I have to stand on the bed to see out.

Snowing here now, big fat flakes. Our location isn't catching deep snow like the mountains and south of the lake.

I keep picking at art projects and plan on baking. I did make fudge for Larry, damn good too. Had to wrap it up tight and store it in the pantry until he's home, otherwise I'd pick at it.

I think I'll make some coffee. I say "some coffee" cuz that's all there will be in it! (Oh... Man it's too early for exclamation points too)
The rest will be Irish cream, creme de cocoa, whiskey, Kahlua, and maybe even some chocolate ice cream.

Edit: The Kahlua was gonna be poured in last and there wasn't room for it… I'm not missing it, this is still a great too-early too-cold winter Saturday morning cup of coffee.
Yesterday, I tried putting a Lindor chocolate truffle (spherical!) in my coffee. Meh. I should have kept those experiences separate.

I've heated milk and melted chocolate candy bars into it, then whisked it. Best hot cocoa ever. Lindors should work.

Add a little dark semi-sweet chocolate too if you have any, and a little bit of salt.

when I want decadent hot chocolate, I add real butter, and sometimes a touch of liquor, to emulsify the butter,

Cold here too, snow on the ground, in the high twenties today, but that massive arctic depression will be passing on through here it seems by midweek. They are predicting in the single digits overnight at that point.

Thanks for the pictures from headquarters Trilo, and all you do around here. It is terrific having the inside lane regarding the event.

Brrrrrrr!!! Now, I'm really cold! Been home for half an hour and can't stop shivering. Just a tad too cold out there to be riding the trike slowly in a parade, breathing everyone's exhaust for over an hour, after waiting at staging over another hour. But, it was pretty neat to see the whole town out there by the road, waving and happily bundled in warm clothes and big blankets. Good turnout.

Meanwhile, I seem to have separated into parts, and will now see what I can come up with to get re-emulsified. Of course, it'll need a generous dose of antifreeze...

Well, it seems like a good place to have a polka dance--nice big dance floor. At least until we put in the booths, tables, skeball, fussball, and train set...

That sounds delicious! Although I would probably have my chips on the side; nom nom nom . . . :)

Last night some fool was out there on the christmas-light-wrapped pedestrian overpass in the 19 degree weather, spinning some glow poi amid the lights. Brought a smile to my face. :D I might've opened the window and cheered, but it was so cold out, I didn't think to.

I am not a person who wears hats very often, but the weather is forcing me to reconsider.

I'm also thinking of going a run today, possibly, but I don't know . . . I know the Canadians do it.

I think I need more coffee. So sleepy.

*pulls into driveway after overnight trip to sea level -- thus dodging icy roads*

Well, I've made some good choices lately. A while back I decided, reluctantly, to skip the Christmas Parades this year, and now I'm glad of it. Kelseyville's parade was yesterday in the same freezing rain Magic Marty hit on our local mountain road. (And you wanted me out in that?! ) Right now as I type, the Clearlake Parade is staggering down Lakeshore Drive in 30 F. If I tried to do stunts with a 300 pound tricycle in that temperature, I would get pneumonia right from the tip of my nose on down. Better I concentrate on the summer parades.

My hot chocolate isn't so fancy, but it does good just the same. :D

:coffee: :coffee: :coffee:

But Elliot, you are perfection!

Larry and his student decided to spend the night in Thunder Valley casino (??) and hit the big buffet instead of trying to chain up in the dark and chance Donner's Pass. We have a lovely blanket of snow here, I know I need to shovel, but am reluctant to try it. Not something I do well. Also, breathing in the cold air, even if I cover my face, kicks in the asthma.
