Re: DAMN CAT
Maggie is a sweet kitty. My decision to get this kitty was that it was the right time (just got done de-flea-ing the house) and she met all the criteria I needed: very young female that was raised from birth in a loving environment. This was so there would be least chance of Sarah (aka Gray Shit) of not getting along with her. I wanted the absolute most nonagressive cat I could get. She is that certainly! I'm teaching her to be in a leash, so very young was important. She's 3 mths old. She has an odd habit of "nursing" on her belly. At first I thought she was worrying her spaying scar, but that's not what she's doing.
She does have fabulous coloring. I've never owned a Tortie. All her siblings are Am Domestic striped tabbies (like Lumux). She's already a talker and she LOVES a cloth covered styrofoam ball.
Gray Shit is getting use to Maggie slowly. These things take time.

Re: DAMN CAT
Such a cutie - congrats! I just got home and I'm getting barked at by our little squid (who's just over 5 months now), it seems like she's admonishing me for not telling her how long I was going to be gone for. Damned cat, she's such a cutie...

Re: DAMN CAT
Keep an update on how the leash training goes. I wish I would have done that to little Gizmo when I found him at work, four years ago next April, when he was about one month old.

Re: DAMN CAT
There is a cat in the Google Street view on Calle dell'Artigiano, Murano, Venice, Italy.
(Note: this is not a canal, although I bet if you prowled the canals you'd find a cat by the water. In fact, it has to be so, because, Cat-Venice-Streetview-Canal is necessary to the world's existence.)

Re: DAMN CAT
Damn cat is just filled with nonsense. Early this morning, I'm up and about and hear a noise from the kitchen. I look, only to see a little black kitten head popping up out of the kitchen sink. The little squid is pretty fearless, and she loves water. One of her favorite things is to watch the water come out of the faucet (she's reached into the stream and stuck her head in a few times), and apparently this morning she decided to investigate the sink to see if there were any drippy spots to play in.
And then, a little while ago, as I cleaned the litter box it was bad enough that she was trying to climb in as I was trying to scoop things out and get them clean... but after taking the trash out and washing up, I pass by the litter box to see that she's curled up and laying in the freshly cleaned litter. Damn you, cat, what the hell!

Re: DAMN CAT
We took Maggie to get her booster shots today. The whole ride there and back she cried. Stressed me out no end. Poor (damn cat) baby! She's probably breaking our stuff right now.
Leash update - every day we "practice" wearing the harness for 5-15 mins. Once it's on, I give her a treat and immediately play play play. The idea is for her to get so use to it she ignores it and goes on with her toddler kitty antics.
Tonight we get to see if spray pheromones work on Gray Shit. She was SUCH a BITCH last night!. PHSSST! Now be happy you little demon!

Had to put Gizmo in "time out." Locked him in the wash machine room with the light out.....for an hour.
He's been "bullying" our older cats: running then pouncing on them which leads to a fight, chasing them from food etc.

Maggie kept us up most of he night bouncing off the ceiling. She'd get a toy, play with it on the bed till I took it away from her, then she'd get another toy, repeat. Hard sleep dep day today.
Damn cat. It was funny at times.

Re: DAMN CAT
Damn Cats now have a fancy schmancy water dish. Actually, they've got a few water dishes strategically located throughout or living space (we've found they liked having multiple sources and mixing things up a bit), but considering the kitten's interest in the life aquatic my girlfriend got a water dish that's sort of a fountain. It plugs into the wall and has a very small (and thankfully quiet) water pump, which both gives them a circulating water source as well as a continuous running water stream to make use of. And man, they make use of it. The older cat seems all sorts of interested but drinks from it normally, but the kitten really seems to be enjoying either swatting at the stream and then licking her paw, or just lapping up water from the stream directly. She's stuck her whole head under it a couple times and didn't go racing away in shock, she's a brave one.

Re: DAMN CAT
We have a few strays in the neighborhood that we feed and water. When I see some new ones I do the TNR bit.
Back in October I bought a "Heated Water Bowl" for them. Along with an exterior heating pad. Glad I did. It's been below zero for three mornings in a row.

Damn cats like to tip the water dishes over. Makes for wet socks in the middle of the night. I'll need to invest in the dishes that have wide bottoms.

Our tuxedo cat, Rascal, once got one of his claws under our dogs, Aussie, right eyelid. He was playing. Fortunately there was no cuts or bleeding.

Re: DAMN CAT
Tonight we learned that Como, our DAMN ORANGE TABBY CAT likes pork loin. We had some leftover pork from Saturday and decided to make pork tacos with it.
I cut it into fingernail size cubes, about 1/4 to 1/2 inch. I turned my back for a minute. Como jumped on the counter and was eating the pork cubes I just cut.
Didn't know whether to laugh about it or attempt to shoot him. I was pissed. I shot him with the handy dandy water bottle instead.
