Urrrgh, I got up too early. And now after 2 cups of coffee and an hour of chores, I feel ready to go back to bed. :|

But instead I will eat my oatmeal and get ready for work. Oh, I need :coffee: :coffee: :coffee:

Thanks for the pix, Patsh!!!

Way to go on the chores and starting over, MDF. Two days in one.... Whoohoo.

And I wouldn't mess with that baby. She looks like she might be a mean one at the bar.

Happy Day, everyone.
Worry is a misuse of imagination

She had blue skin, And so did he.
He kept it hid And so did she.
They searched for blue Their whole life through,
Then passed right by- And never knew.”

only the Hof and the Dear ones I met there can twirl me further

Off work today and tomorrow. Going to San Francisco for my newphew's wedding at the City Hall, and then a night on the town with new and old relatives. I've got dressing up anxiety, but think I'll feel good once everything is on. Debating whether a last minute hair cut will fit in the schedule.

not sure if I want to fill the bar up just yet. I like having room to ROAR!

and yes, The Hof is one of my favorite recent places to be. So beautiful, well appointed, and friendly. plus good FIRE!

Wow, Elorrum this is a great room for the year! I kind of like to think each of the rooms you've made in each bar, as still connected, at a sort of "hub" so we can stroll out of one, and into another, at any time.....just an expanding place, instead of replacing.

I always had you figured as a CSNY (Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young) type of guy. Sounds good to me.
Led Zeppelin, Doors, Rolling Stones, Blue Oyster Cult, etc......and most all classical.

good luck with the party and all Elorrum......I know that sort of stuff, especially if it involves dressing up, puts me on edge.

yeah 420: the Hof weekend was such fun.....can't wait for this years!! and at least we have the Amtrackathon to look forward too!

My daughter has surgery today, so, I'll just be sitting nervously at the hospital (or dark table in the back here).
Not a super emergency type surgery, but still delicate, very important/life changing, and a possible painful recovery.
So, any good thoughts for her would be appreciated.

Many good thoughts headed your way, ygmir. Comfort will require both pillows and a sense of humor. She'll be home soon to those she loves.

And on the other subject:

"Led Zeppelin, Doors, Rolling Stones, Blue Oyster Cult, etc......and most all classical."

My respect for you increases.

One of my interesting 'moments' in BRC occurred in 2008 when I was in 'downtown Tokyo', at the Rue Morgue on the 9 o'clock plaza. The RangerTokyo outpost is there, as well as some other great camps, including the BRC Post Office v.2.0. They had a postmark of Godzilla and a Japanese WWII vintage battle flag that they put on with a Pitney-Bowes postage machine as a cancellation mark.

What made it complete was somebody had their radio on tuned to Radio Electra and Sir Skip was playing 'Godzilla' by Blue Oyster Cult. At that moment, a large fire-breathing lizard art car came rolling down the 9:00 road. My mind immediately gave that car a name: Mechagodzilla.

In the evening, I started my personal tradition at BRC of facing the setting sun, and yelling, "Banzai!" Very Japanese, but shigata ga nai.(It doesn't matter)That was funny to me, and that was what counted at the time. The place was right, the time was right, and I STILL yell "Banzai!" in honor of it.

When Eliot becomes Emperor......I'll just throw up my arms and yell,

"Fuck it!"

instead.

The theme hasn't been announced, but a new JRS did go out today.

*strolls in*
Hi gang!!

Thank you all, so much, for the well wishes for my daughter.
The doc said the surgery went well, and finally she's sleeping on a load of vicoden and such.
Cutting chunks of sinus out has to hurt!! dang.
But, here's what surprised me:
in order to relieve pressure/vacuum in her middle ear, they cut small holes in her ear drum, and put, essentially, a grommet in it. They say it'll fall out in a year or so, and then they'll see if her eustachian tubes will function correctly. Otherwise, another hole, another grommet, since once this fall out, it'll supposedly heal over.

and dang.......so the doc, the whole staff, my daughter (half high on the pre op meds) are all standing as we got to go in to say "good luck" before the wheel her into the O.R..
well, wished her well, and retreated back.....just as they were wheeling her by she smiles, and say , "Oh dad, don't you stand there crying"... EGAD!! they all turned at once and started laughing!! I was mortified, wiping my cheeks quickly.......explaining that the pollen from the bushes outside must have effected my eyes........
I just hid in a National Geographic for a while in the waiting room.......dang.
