I come into the bar highly disappointed. Where's the sass? It was all lovey-dovey last page.
I have a little bit of Savannah with me. Shhh...

Generally, there will now be a rush on stuffed camels.

I like Theme.
Elliott, you ever heard the story of the last camel charge? In Nevada, down near Las Vegas 25 US Cavalry troopers charged a group of over 500 Modoc Indians who were preventing their passage down the trail to the Mojave Desert and beyond into California in the 1850s

In what might be the BEST ever example of 'shock and awe' associated with the US military, the 25 troopers, though outnumbered 20 to 1 or more, succeeded in their charge. The Modocs, having never seen a camel before, did the only thing they could do when facing troops riding animals was bigger and faster than horses. They fled the scene. There were no casualties on either side.

The camels were brought to the US on the orders of then Secretary of War Jefferson Davis. When the experiment ended, those camels that weren't sold were let loose into the wild. It was assumed that they died out in the 1930s. Then, in 2005 a rail enthusiast took a picture that shows multiple camels in western Texas, the offspring of the originals. One animal that WAS sold was in the hands of then-Missouri Governor Sterling Price. That animal would achieve immortality as a pack animal for a Mississippi regiment that was trapped at Vicksburg in 1863, when the city was under siege. The camel was shot by a Union sharpshooter, and the Union sharpshooter was immediately targeted by a Confederate sharpshooter and killed. The animal, who went by the name of Douglas, had a headstone erected in his honor in the Confederate cemetary in Vicksburg, also in 2005, for his 'faithful service'. It was erected by the Sons of the Confederacy.

And that's all I'll say for the moment.

Elliot, re. your sig line: I'm not sure, if you've considered this, though maybe it's another example of your genius, but, you know, to put shoes on a camel, you have to work with it's toes...........

I went by to inspect my fence project, and was happily surprised to see the little crack-heads were not able to do much. pulled the slack out of a couple of sections of cable was about it, which won't disturb the function, just change the aesthetics of a rear area which you can't really see anyway.
so, yay that.

So... I should change it to Elliot's Camel Toe Service and Tea Parlour?
Either way, I'm confident I can handle the work.

You may have a tall tail.

I just told a true tale that sounded tall.

Just tossing it out there, Elliot, but a pedal powered kinetic camel might be fun. I was thinking something where the hooves were connected to the wheels and thought I'd seen a video of one somewhere, but the only thing I could find was this clip of something done at Snowflake Village - awesome, but different than what I was thinking.

Hopped up on cold meds, I expected some kind of fun playariffic fever dreams. Instead, zonk...completely out. Woke up to the kitten (who's now nearly 7 months old) standing on my neck looking down on my face, wondering if it was time for me to get up. She's cute like that. I'm happy to say I woke up feeling much better today, maybe even back to normal. Lots of errands and things to get caught up on though, so it'll be a bit busy. Have a good Friday!

Is it safe to come in? Have they started raving about the theme, ticket sales and the new vehicle fee?

Took longer than planned but finally bought my ticket to Australia. Fly over at the end of February.
The major difference between a thing that might go wrong and a thing that cannot possibly go wrong is that when a thing that cannot possibly go wrong goes wrong it usually turns out to be impossible to get at or repair.
