Maybe the traffic delays going to the event would be better if people wouldn't park their rvs and other vehicles sticking out into the roadway in all the little towns along the way in!
That was why my sister and I and so many other vehicles were STOPPED along the road on our way in!
An rv was sticking out into the road, half way and caused a traffic backup, that and all the people getting in front of cars with [TICKETS WANTED] signs and making traffic come to almost a stand still.
(Not saying anything about the traffic ON the playa, because even though it took near 6 hours from pavement to gate, it was worth it!)

People waiting in line during entry and exit enjoying it so much, chatting and lounging around, visiting and hugging, they forget the whole purpose of the line is to get thru it. You know, keep it moving. That brings us to the Greeters... Then, do we really need another sound camp? Really? You're out there on the playa and think, you know what's missing? Another sound camp. And that brings us to DJs... Then generators and RVs, seriously, if you want all the comforts of home, stay there! Hippie line jumpers, who feel that because it's all peace and love no one will mind them sliming their way into the line for snowcones ahead of those who waited longer, then their feeb responses to being called on it. That plastic yellow ribbon tape that the bastards put up to hold space for other worthless cases to show up on Thursday. Their response to being called on it, "We plan to have a real chill sound space." As if that helps me...or I care. The hipster insiders who ask me where some hipster camp is and when I don't know or care make some snide comment about me not knowing. People telling me I haven't got a chance when I'm obviously joking about my event being hinged on some girl. People who ask what other flavors are available for the snowcone they are being freaking gifted, or ask for Nutella for the gifted pancake, or make any kind of demand or request when they should just shut up and enjoy a gift. And then the cops...sure....great people doing a hard job. Being anti-social like that, preying on those weaker, must be a real strain, what, with the over-time and all. And those miscreants that leave behind a pile of their shit when they leave because they are dicks and can't clean up after themselves. Rules that seem to single out the smallest infractions while turning a blind eye, and encouraging larger ones. How did the professional photo shoot help me? I know it brings money into someones pocket. That damn annoying first question everyone asks, "So, how many burns you been to?" I camped in the Black Rock Desert 25 years ago, self-sufficient. I ride my bike around on Christmas and gift to strangers. I like drinking booze and falling asleep under the stars. I don't need a certain number of burns to prove anything. Okay, time to make coffee now, I'll be back.

I can't make any claims myself, but my friend who went to BM and hated it, and frequently cites one reason being the pompous French douchebags he encountered there that were mocking him for how he held his cigarettes.

The French Quarter 2012. My buddy I've know since junior high school, Jeff, and I, two middle aged teenage gregarious hetro male doofuses out on the make, came upon a line forming within the French Quarter. Being good burners we knew enough to jump in behind anyone waiting for anything in BRC. As we waited, wondering what the payoff would be -French-press coffee? Croissants? Who knows?- the line grew behind us. Finally a gentleman came out and informed the line that there was limited space, not all of us would be able to make it into the Aerial Bondage class.....

One time in the 1990s we humped a bunch of food up to a (legitimately useful) timber protest way the fuck up in the mountains near Warner Creek, Oregon. It was over 100 degrees out so I through a cold watermelon in my old seabag and hiked the motherfucker all the way up to them. Some hippie woman asked me if it was organic and bitched about how the rinds weren't native to the ecosystem, and how the vegetable oil we brought them wasn't the right kind of organic... so, we cut open the watermelon with a machete and ate it in front of them all. Finally, some guy spoke up and said he was a Freegan. If somebody's offering it to him for free, he's not going to complain. Over in another little cluster, the anarchytards from Eugene wanted to know if we could bring them up some cigarettes next time. Same as it ever was, I suppose.

This "Caravansary" theme name is pretty stupid. The original plan was probably to use "Silk Road" (or that "Silk Route" as the website uses), but the term's recent association with the former online black market nixed that idea. I bet two drunken dudes were talking about "Caravan City" and suddenly had some alcohol-induced epiphany to call it "Caravansary." After the hangover, one of the dudes remembered that he had to submit the theme name by the deadline that night, and found that theme name scrawled on a Cheeto-dust-covered napkin wedged in his shirt pocket. "Good enough, whatever" and the 2014 Theme became final with some note: "**** Do not use the term 'Silk Road' on any documents!!!!!"

I didn't like "Fertility 2.0" either. Recycling a theme is just about the laziest thing you can do for an event like this. Maybe the organizers thought that year was going to be a bust and decided to put as little effort into the theme as possible.

Fertility 2.0 was crap.

Recycling themes is unoriginal and lazy. Choosing themes that already describe the nature of the event and/or are incongruous with the principles of the event is lazy. A bunch of people caravaning and camping in the middle desert is already thematic of Burning Man.

It's like they could have just made the theme 'Burn things and blow shit up'. But then that would have been way better...
